Ok, I sat down today to make this furniture tutorial. It covers everything you need to know except for creating your mesh...that parts up to you since every furniture piece will be different.

If there is anyone out there like me, who learns better with video, there is a learning site called Lynda.com, which has extensive video training on most versions of 3ds max. If you are new to 3DSM, check it out. While it isn't IMVU specific, it covers pretty much every aspect of 3DSM among many other apps such as Photoshop.
Only downside is a 14.99 monthly fee, or you can order the DVD training series directly.

Another video training site is VTC

Hope it helps some people. _________________ You can't guarantee my sanity.

3D Buzz is a GREAT resource for learning all about Max. It requires registration but is FREE. They have a whole series of videos on learning Max. Most of the videos are geared towards polygon modelling and they cover a ton of tips and tricks for making meshes. It has nothing to do with IMVU or exporting. I learned most of what I know by using their video tutorials. I think they're a great resource
