I always thought it was just a little image. 0.o as far as I know there is no way to add the online status. However if there is I'd like to know. xD

I don't know about the div layouts. I just make my page look like a div layout. (right now it doesn't, but in the past it has).
The best way to do the div layouts, from what I've tried - is to use the "widen and center panels" code and just tweak around. *notes to self: put code on site*

As far as changing the online now icon. I'm glad someone finally asked. lol. www.imvustylez.com

Code:
<style type="text/css">
.olstatus_1 {background-image:url('insert your image url here'); background-repeat:no-repeat; height:13px; width:75px;}
</style>

BTW: The height and width can be changed. Whatever your online icon image is, change the code to that dimension.

My site explains it more. (There is help out there)

your a blessing thank you Smile why isn't this code more readily available... now i just need a code to add it to somewhere on my page Razz
Code:
<div class="olstatus" id="olstatus_10161008_mypic"><a href="imvu:StartIM?avatar=TheDarkRaver&fromSite=1" title="Click to launch a 3D IM with The Dark Raver"><img alt="online status" src="/catalog/web_images/space.gif" width="40" height="13" border="0"></a></div>

That did work... but it's broken now i don't know but it's loading the area the space.gif but it's not getting the function to check if status is 1 or 2 online or offline Sad

Hmm...it works for me. I didn't do the .olstatus_2

I didn't know there was a 2. Try just taking the 2 one out and only having the 1. (hope that makes sense).

I don't have an about me part (btw, for those who say it's against the TOS..why do they have a "hide option" in the account settings?)
But back to topic, I don't have an about me part so I don't have an online now icon for me.
My visitors panel and messages panel, the online now icon works.

Update: Your online status's do work. I'd just recommend taking out the 2 part. (I also checked to see if your visitors online status work, they do. I dug around and the people that it says are online, are.)

it works but it doesn't show when i am online
the offline one is when i am offline.. when i am online it just shows space.gif not my online.gif... it's not contacting the server somehow... i don't know what is going on with it... but look here
Code:
.olstatus {float:left; width: 40px; height: 13px; background-image: url(/catalog/web_images/space.gif);}
.olstatus_1 {float:left; width: 40px; height: 13px; background-image: url(/catalog/web_images/my_page/online_under_image.gif);}
.olstatus_0 {float:left; width: 40px; height: 13px; background-image: url(/catalog/web_images/my_page/space.gif);}

.olstatus_0 lol not _2 but it's for offline as well as .olstatus it should work never the less.. because the code is correct but i think i am missing some small mundane detail

hmmm..thanks for pointing that out. I would just do the _1 still. because that's the one that shows you being online. I'll mess with the code later. (Plus I need to do a tutorial still..)

But from what I see on your code, it should be working. One thing I noticed is (from what my homepage says) you're online, but on your page it's showing your offline image. I'd just try getting rid of the _0 one, I don't understand why it would be interfering but it may be. Just a thought?

Hope I'm helping. I just studied the imvu codes and figured this one out, but I could be going about it the wrong way..lol

ive been watching this and i think you should check this 2 js scripts that have the update functions (the 2nd one specially):

Code:
<script src="/catalog/includes/__utm.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="/catalog/includes/xh_Request.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

i mean, in the file:

http://www.imvu.com/catalog/includes/xh_Request.js

you see that there is the UpdateStatus() function that imvucodes reset to hide the online status. You may look at it and try some values to it and see what does it returns. If you can make a variable to get 0 or 1 or 2 to get the online status, then we are done. Im like busy doing other websites, but i like the idea of this research. Its worth giving it time.
