I'm posting this on behalf of a friend. My friend, whos a transgender, sent this message to me:
| Quote: | | ive reported over 35 clubs on this game for tranny bashing me non stop. And im about to quit imvu cuz of it. I hate imvu i wish id never even started playing. Its a horrible game filled with nasty crued rude sick perverts tranny bashers assholes liars cheaters PUNKS racists and just horrible ppl. But yeah i keep gettin booted for being me...so i report them to imvu everytime. pissin me off alot here |
now this is exactly the sort of thing that makes me sick. imvu should be about bringing people together and getting to understand one another. we shouldnt be bashing ppl just because they're transgender or anything. Transgenders are people just as much as anyone else. and it isn't right to have these people making fun of transgenders. its about time to make a change around here regarding the treatment that certain people get on imvu. _________________ Laugh with me. There are a lot of ignorant people online. They show their asses online rather than in real life because they know someone can't just punch them in the face on the internet. _________________

There are many pretty sick and twisted individuals on imvu. All you have to do is look at room descriptions to know how petty and smallminded people are. I see rooms that say no noobs, only friends, I reserve right to boot anyone for any or no reason, things like that. A friend even told me, he kept getting booted out of rooms because he was in Navi dress. How pathetic is that.
There is this suggestion thread about transgenders you might be interested in. I know they will want to hear your friends story. It will add more weight to the suggestion they made.

That is so true!! I have met some real asses on IMVU ,but have also met some really good hearted people and CrusnikX is one of them.
CrusnikX...I am proud of you for sticking up for your friend and I am glad that I met you and am proud to call you my friend.
Always remember...it is not what a person looks like...it is what is on the inside that counts!!! I taught that to my kids the whole time they was growing up and they believe it also. _________________

If the web isn't the one place that this holds true, then I don't know. What better place to get to know the person inside their shell... The TRUE person, not just the package?
One of the best people I ever worked with was a pre-op tranny. The day my (now) husband's Grandfather was diagnosed terminal, she was the ONLY one to comfort me. The ONLY one. Out of huge number of people in that store.
I'm right here with you. I've always welcomed all into my rooms, except the intolerant. _________________

Imvu does not do enough to insure these kinds of things don't stop they need to freaking bring the hammer down on these ignorant asses instead of just sitting there.Like others have said this is suppose to bring everyone together and embrace our differences whether it be Gender,Race,Culture or Religion....Crusnik on behalf of Your friend please tell them im sorry for how people can be so immature and cruel.... |

One of my dearest and closest friends is Transgender and has had to put up with this type of treatment from her family...of all people. I've always been there to support her, and any others who walk down that road. It's not a choice. It's how you are born. The petty elitest asses who think differently do NOT deserve a second thought.
From my Friend, "Being honest is so much easier than living a lie, and it isnt fair that anyone should feel that being honest about themselves should be to their detriment. It just isn't fair, and the people who are closed minded, that foster this sort of behavior are really missing out on some wonderful people and relationships in doing so."
Believe me, being lesbian, I have received the same treatment. Even so far as to getting notes that say, "Your products are gorgeous, but because of your "choices" I refuse to buy from you." Really...like I care? I'm obviously doing quite well without those sales. We don't need people like that in our lives.
People use the anonymity of the internet as a license to be as rude as they like, and it really needs to be brought to an end. _________________

I sympathize with your friend, but I suggest only going to rooms where tolerance is the norm. People online in general are utter prigs. Such restrictions in the room description (any such restriction), is a good signal to keep out.
Also, I worry about this overwhelming mentality amongst newer users that IMVU is a game. It is not, and I'm beginning to think that this generalized belief nothing that goes on here is 'real' may be fueling this sort of bad behavior. _________________ Laele's Mad Creations |

I was pointed to this thread from the gender options one in suggestions. It is sad that this has happened to your friend, but there are a lot of transgender friendly rooms out there. Yes, most ppl are narrow minded and won't accept anyone that does not conform to what mainstream society believes is the norm, but as the lovely Laele suggests, I would look for rooms that will accept a human being for what they are and not what they think they should be. _________________

There will always be people in the world that have nothing better to do than to make fun of or put down others.
But there will also always be people in the world that will be there for others when going through something like this.
I feel sorry for those small minded people that don't realize how much they are missing in life by being cruel to those that are different. Because the people in the world that are ok with being different are the ones that truly know who they are inside.
As Karen suggeted above it would be great if all those that agree with this to go to the other thread as well and make a comment. We may not be able to stop all the "haters" out there but we can all get together and show them that they will not get those down that know who they truly are inside. _________________ CandyApple or PoisonApple, Which would you choose? |

I wish more people would mind their own business when it comes to personal choice or feeling (gender, sexuality, whatever the case may be). And if they insist on making it a point to matter, then learn to understand as opposed to being so narrow minded. _________________ |

I don't know any of you, but I a so against discrimination of any kind. In my public rooms I'll boot without warning, but mostly for rudeness. In my rooms anyone is welcome...trans gender, noobs (i also am offened by no noob rules), furries, idc what they are, it's WHO they are that counts. Down with discrimination of all forms. Enjoy life, love and be at peace.
IMVU should be ashamed.
idk you...but don't leave. Stay for the good people. We care. |

I am like Artista with regards to my public rooms. ALL are welcome, as long as they don't behave rudely or harass others, then I will boot. Your friend would be very welcome in my public rooms Crusnik. IF they like to chat and have fun, then come along _________________

| If your friend is not welcomed in some rooms, they better go to the places where is welcomed. And it's the same incorrect to judge all imvu based on selected intolerant rooms as being intolerant to transgenders or any other groups. |
