Make sure you have an 'Action' applied to the Armature.
- Select Armature and go into POSE mode (Ctrl+TAB)
- Select all
- Press 'I' and select "LocRotScale" (this creates 'keyframes' needed)
- Shift+F12 to change to Action window to check (each bone should have an entry there and a yellow dot (Shift+F5 to go back to 3D view)
- Select MESH *then* Armature
- export. _________________

| Could there be another problem? I'm still getting the same error message after doing what you said. |

Which version of Blender are you using? And once you add the action (and keyframes for each bone) are you making sure to select the mesh *1st* and then the armature before exporting? _________________

I try exporting to Cal3D but there is no option for that. Am I doing something wrong?
[Edit] Nevermind. Figured out how to export. It still does not export .xmf though. It only exports .xsf and .cfg. I tried drawing a UV image like on the first page of this topic and it didn't work. It said "Error: Active object is not a mesh". It is a mesh. It is a chair I made. Why does it say this? _________________ -Member Since 2006-

Did you have the mesh and the armature selected when you exported? What version of Blender are you using? There have been a lot of advances and tools created for Blender to IMVU since this was written. _________________

I have version 2.49. I tried selecting the armature like it said in the earlier posts. Nothing happened when I tried selecting it though. I went into the Outliner view and selected everything that way. Would that be the same thing? _________________ -Member Since 2006-

Personally I use 2.45.
To export, select them mesh first, then the armature. Not sure if this is where the problem lies or not. I have not read through this tutorial in over 2 years.
If you are going to use 2.49, I would recommend joining This Group. All the tools necessary for using it are in there.
If you want to use 2.45, Here is a tutorial on how to get a simple cube to IMVU. _________________

I'll check both of these out. See which one works better. I am absolutely clueless and dumber than dumb when it comes to modeling. I'm lucky I got something as decent as I did to turn out after play with a tutorial online lol. _________________ -Member Since 2006-

| Hello, my name is Chelsea and Im a new creator. Im looking for a teacher to help me learn how to work with blender. Ive done a tun of sample works but seem to get halph way throught and then get stuck every time. It woulld be so nice if i could find someone to teach me the ways of blender. Ive done creating before, so it shouldent be too hard to help me get the drift of everything. Thank you for reading this and please tell your friends if you know anyone who is willing to teach me the things i need to know. |
