All of a sudden I felt an urge to create a scored test, or a quiz about roleplay knowledge. I made the right answers based on this forum (you can clearly see some of the thread titles from here), and a number of few other sources.
At least I hope it'll turn out to be a useful tool in educating others about roleplay. It's found here. It does tell the right and wrong answers after it's done.
You can also turn it as a widget for your homepage etc, if you so wish.
Edit: I'm moving the quizzed back to Quibblo since they dealt with the ad problem. Find it here (as slightly updated as well). _________________

I got 95%
I think I know which question got me. It was the one about good or evil characters. I couldn't decide whether to pick there should always be shades of gray or sometimes totally evil characters are fine and for the life of me I can't really recall which one I picked.
It was either that or the multi-race character question. Sometimes I'm okay with the multiple "halfs" while other times I loathe it simply for the wording alone as you can't be more than two 'halves." |

Some questions are more open for interpretation, so the lack of 5 or 10% is nothing to be ashamed of.
Anyway, there are diagrams in the result page. You can use the arrows on the diagram to see the "wrong" answers if that's what you like.
Lol, I just noticed a copy and paste error in one of the answers. Nothing serious though, just one word twice because I was changing the order. But there's a time limit so I'm not allowed to fix it anymore, or I might lose the responses, so I won't do it. _________________

100% witches! I r teh liek best evar! *uberdouche voice*
Okay, all joking aside, I did get 100%. Reading the forums does help a little... I'll admit. However, that doesn't mean that I'm the best and I'll never claim to being the best. As a little eye opener, really great! I mean, I'm sure a lot of people don't really realize what they were doing was wrong. When I was 15-18 I thought God moding was what was the norm. Then again, that's only when I was on here. Yahoo and AOL never really had that problem. Overall, I'd say its a good quiz with a few questions indeed left for interpretation. I don't know how well it would take with the newer RPers that haven't really been taught. As long as it shows the correct answers, I'm sure it'll be fine. |

I guess I did an okay job, then.
At least it means that we agree on lots of things, so we match. _________________

| I probably would have gotten a 100 if I wasn't feeling overly generous toward people who do certain obnoxious things in role play in regard to one of the questions. But I was being overly generous when I did it and it cost me an answer. |

I disagree with question 6. Not everyone uses the same symbols to signify thoughts, OOC, etc.
Overall 90% though. On some questions one of the multiple choice answers weren't what I'd have picked anyway. _________________ What's the difference between an Englishman and an American? One thinks a hundred miles is a long way and one thinks a hundred years is a long time. |

| A good point, Goo. I think in that one question perhaps there should be a few options. Not everyone uses ** to explain actions... some use ::, [], ~~, to name a few. Basically something to signal what is action and what is not. |

I tend to use ~ ~ around telepathic communications but many people aren't familiar with that so if someone new is in the room who isn't familiar with how I role play I tell them that's to signify telepathic communication with one or more other characters. |

| For never being taught how to roleplay, I'm proud of my 80%...though I do think I got a few questions wrong simply because, if I didn't, I'd feel an overwhelming urge to correct my friends each time they post me in groups. But no matter! I'll try again and figure out what I got wrong. |

Tutu got 95% o.o
My conflict came with the question, "Are all the roleplaying rules always the same?"
Somehow though, I believe that in the midst of the rules, we forget what role-playing is suppose to be. (Clearly just my opinion but, an on going problem I have observed)
A lot of people on IMVU have... well... family relationships online.
A mother, father, sister, and brother upon which they get married, divorced, raise children, run malls, etc..
Is that not role playing?
If it is role-playing, than who is to judge whether or not one style is better than the other? (This has just be a question plaguing me, sorry if this is the wrong place x.x)
Though I answered the question on the Quiz as I thought it would be accepted because of the general consensus. I am still an advocate that there are no such thing as rules in RP. Yes, I believe that there are concepts and agreements to help RP stories run smoothly and effectively.
On the other hand, such titles such as 'rules' has the tendency to become this form of discrimination. A way for one to have an inner satisfaction of being better than another (Not saying this is always the case but, just observations of how some people act.)
With that being said, is there a such thing as an "advance roleplayer" o.o? Considering that rp
"Role-playing refers to the changing of one's behaviour to assume a role, either unconsciously to fill a social role, or consciously to act out an adopted role. While the Oxford English Dictionary defines role-playing as "the changing of one's behaviour to fulfill a social role""(Wikipedia XD)
I loved the quiz by the way, it was very interesting and something for those I train for my particular rp to use as a test to see how much they know ^^ |
