|
|
Hi, this is a continuation from the first pend thread:Here
Staff update-Derive Fees added to pend process 10/13/2011
Now Live 10/13/2011
| Quote: | Varsha-
Effective today, we are instituting a delay before Creators can receive Credits earned through the sale of virtual goods in the Catalog.
An announcement related to this change was made earlier and can be found here.
What is Credit Pend?
Before, Creators immediately received their credits when another user buys one of their products or its derivation. With Credit Pend, Creator earnings will be placed in pend status, a kind of a hold, and not added immediately to available credit balances at the time products are sold. The credits placed in pend will not be immediately available for the Creator to use or transfer. The Creator will have to wait for a certain period of time, discussed below, before the credits are available to use or transfer.
Many online businesses also use a similar approach in order to protect buyers and sellers. Apple, for example, doesn’t release money to an iPhone application developer until 45 days after the end of the month of the purchase to ensure safety in a transaction. Cafepress and Zazzle do not release payments to their content creators until 30 to 45 days after the items are purchased.
Why Pend?
We are implementing the new credit pend process to protect the integrity of the IMVU economy and to discourage credit theft, payment fraud, UFI content submission, and account takeovers.
We are protecting Creators, users and IMVU.
We want everyone’s IMVU experience to be fun and safe. Like you, we wish everyone followed the rules, but the reality is that there are people looking to “beat” the system at your expense. Often, by the time IMVU becomes aware of some of these activities, the Credits have been used and are impossible to trace, harming Creators, users, and IMVU.
In particular, we’ve noticed that Creator accounts tend to be targeted for account takeovers since they usually have larger Credit balances than average users. Account takeovers and other types of fraud harm Creators the most, since large amounts of artificially generated Credits in the economy decrease their value for you and Resellers.
We don’t pretend we can completely defeat fraudsters, but Credit Pend will help both you and IMVU dramatically diminish fraudsters. Importantly, Credit Pend will help us to restore Credits to the rightful owner.
How Will Credit Pend Work?
Only Credits will be placed in pend status.
Promotional Credits will not be placed in pend status, so developer tokens will still be available for immediate use if the purchases were made with Promotional Credits.
Creators will be able to see how many Credits they have in pend as well as when those Credits will be available in a new section of Creator Reports titled “Pended Credits Schedule”.
In almost all cases, Credits in pend will become available to Creators per the pend schedule (see below). However, if a customer made the purchase with fraudulently obtained Credits, and IMVU discovers the fraud prior to the end of the pend period, then IMVU will reverse the transaction. Should this happen, the Creator will be sent a message with the details, the Credits involved in the transaction will be removed from pend, and the product purchased with the fraudulent Credits will be removed from the purchaser’s inventory.
Pend Schedule:
If you signed up to be an IMVU Creator BEFORE today (September 19, 2011), your pend/hold period will initially be one (1) day.
The pend period will be gradually increased in weekly increments until all Creators have a 14-day pend period.
We hope this incremental increase in pend periods will allow you to plan and to manage your Creator account.
Credits earned between Sep 19 – Sep 25 : Pended for 1 day
Credits earned between Sep 26 – Oct 2 : Pended for 7 days
Credits earned on or after Oct 2 : Pended for 14 days
Note: Credits will be delivered on a daily basis based on purchase timing. So during the 7-day pend period of the schedule, credits earned on Sep 26th will be delivered on Oct 2nd, credits earned on Sep 27th will be delivered on Oct 3rd, credits earned on Sep 28th will be delivered on Oct 4th and so on.
When the pend period is 14 days, credits earned on Oct 2nd will be delivered on Oct 16th, credits earned on Oct 3rd will be delivered on Oct 17th and so on.
A tutorial about the Credit Pend process is available in the Creator Center.
If you sign up to be an IMVU Creator AFTER today (September 19, 2011), your pend period will begin with and stay at 14 days. In the future, we may raise or lower the escrow period at our own discretion, always seeking to protect Creators, users and IMVU.
Thank you and we appreciate your support toward our efforts to make your IMVU experience a great one.

Yet I'm STILL showing the 12th on my schedule due to the reversed transaction test. If everyday that shows a reversal stays on that schedule, we're just going to have a LOOOOOOOOOOONG scrolling list of empty dates. |
No. This is a browser caching issue. Clearing your cache should help fix this visual issue. |

I see purchase dates, but yet from Sept!. nothing under Credit Delivery Date. Kinda obvious this is not working. Here it is the 19th and was a two week limit.

like this for the whole month now zero on the delivery. |
The delivery dates are blank because those purchases were made prior to the change being live. Those credits were added to your credit balanced as they used to be without any hold. Going forward you will start seeing dates in that column. In fact we just purchased a product from your catty so you can see.
Thanks |
| Varsha wrote: | | LiLesah wrote: | | I have some sales in the pending section - However, my email notifications don't say the credits were put into pending... will emails be updated to show credits earned are actually in pending? Thanks |
Yes. The sales report email text will be changed to reflect the new credit pend process.
Thank you. |
| Varsha wrote: | | miaka618 wrote: | It looks good. According to my pend calander, my first pending sale was made at 2011-09-19 16:33:32
Is that about right? I can't trust the forum times, the first post was made at 10:22 apparently. |
Yes, the change was live at 4.31 our time (pacific time) |
| Varsha wrote: | | Goldilocks wrote: | Reporting problems, as I come across them... I'm including a small sampling of what's going on, so you can see what I'm talking about (just in case I'm not explaining myself properly)
As you can see, not all purchases have been placed in credit pend, as they should be (yes, I've been paid for these). These were real credit sales, yet I have been paid immediately for them.
Also, I have some blank spaces under Credit Delivery Date where there were real credit sales. You can see one of these sales in the screenshot I supplied (I'm referring to the real credit sale, not promo one). It should have tomorrow's date listed, but doesn't. |
Thanks. This appears similar to the issue reported earlier where for some reason one of the transactions is not being pended. The credits are being paid out correctly but not being put on hold. We are investigating still and this information helps so thanks! |

| MishkaCross wrote: |
I did not get paid for the sales that arent being held either so...yeah... |
Those transactions are before the pend change was live. So you are fine. Those credits were added to your credit balance as the sales occurred. |
| Varsha wrote: | On a positive note, it has been about 22 hours since the credit pend change went live and so far the process is working as designed. The first batch of held credits will start getting delivered after about 4.30 today (our time).
Reminder that credits will be delivered exactly 24 hours after the actual purchase time and NOT in a single batch of all credits pended in the past 24 hours.
Thank you. |
| Varsha wrote: | | Please remember, its a 24 hour time period for pend. So all credits held over the last 24 hour period are not getting delivered in one shot. Purchases made say at 9 PM (our time) yesterday will have their credits delivered at 9 PM tonight. |
| Varsha wrote: | As stated by our moderators and me before, we know there are some transactions that are not getting pended and instead credits are getting delivered at the time of the sale. We also know there can be a delay in credits moving from being on hold to being added to your credit balances. We will look into both and provide an update when available.
One thing is for certain - all credits for sales are being paid out correctly - some with a short delay.
We have also noted the various suggestions about existing reports that have come up. There are no immediate plans to work on the reports, however we will keep these on hand for the future.
Thank you. |

Questions as you have worked with me before to resolve an issue with an account, now that credit pend is now active,
1.) in a case of "false flagging" or where IMVU disables a developers account, now not only do they loose said account but while account is disabled all "pended" credits would be lost as well?
2.)All pending credits would still be paid to the creator while the account was disabled?
3.) When the account was finally returned to the creator, example: account being disabled for 30 days, once the user could log back into the account, they would have to start the "credit pend" process all over again ...starting from the 14 day pend and not eased into it?
4.) It took I believe it was 7 days for you to reslove the issue I had when said Pro account was disabled for 30 days due to someone wrongly flagging a product ( on several occasions),the credits that were refunded at that time were in excess of 200k it took almost another 7 days to be reimbursed for those and the product returned to the catalog and the users that bought them.. Since the developers catalog tends to get disabled as well, during those "7" days they would not have had sales. hence any pended credits should be paid to a "disabled account" once account is returned are those credits going to be there? and since in this example there would only be 7 days worth of pended credits left in the system, We would have to start over at the 14 day mark, to synch the account with IMVU servers ?
5.) Or are we going to have to spend days upon days filing "help" tickets?
On a side Note Da5 could you please PM me, Thanks |
Credit pend schedule will not change based on disabling of accounts. For temporarily banned accounts, they will have access to the credits they have earned when they get access to their accounts. All creators will be on 14 day schedule after October 2nd and that schedule will be in effect in all cases. There is no "restart" per se.
Thanks |
| Varsha wrote: | To summarize:
1) We are looking into the issue of some purchases not going through pend process. Such transactions are getting paid out immediately.
2) So far, the maximum delay for delivery of credits we have seen has been about 2 hours from the time pend period is over We are working on the delay issue as well.
3) As of now we have not had any cases where credits have not been paid out for a purchase made.
4) We have noted your comments and confusions about the way reports work (as they always have) and time zones.
5) Dev tokens are getting paid out instantly if the purchase is made entirely with promo credits. We are checking on situations where the payment is made partly with promo credits and partly with credits.
Thank you. |

Still waiting for a response on this issue. Guess they've been too busy figuring out new ways to minimize our earnings to address this serious bug.
My regular income report is severely short for all of yesterday - I ran a query on yesterday's earnings and it's lower than it's been in over a year. Something is seriously wrong. Now, I can't even compare it the pend schedule because I can't see more than 1/3 of the day's data without hitting the 500 transaction limit. _________________

The yrs time money an hard work i have invested in this site and this is how you show ur appreciation. Developers are a BIG part what made this site an keeps it running and sadly we are the one's that keep getting screwed. |

There are still severe issues within the pending credits schedule as well as a major decline in sales for many developers. Please fix these issues because as it has been said previously, there are too many developers and creators who have poured years into their accounts and catalogs and to have these issues glaring us right smack in the face is just not right and shows a lack of appreciation towards the developers and creators.
Imvu, take a hard look at what recent changes did to a system such as Netflix and consider that when you continuously reroute your agenda so that it fits your ideals it could cost a loss in your revenue due to disgruntled users who will in the end find a much more reliable avenue to travel in their creative quests for 3d rpg. |

I've not recieved any credits the last 2 days, Im suppose to be making a halloween bundle but I guess that's not happening now. You've actually had to open a new thread theres so much anger on the other one, is there a reason you ignore your community? To some of us this isn't a game but a source of income. Please give us our money. _________________

I don't think we'll be receiving any credits this week because we moved on to the 14 day pend, and that means no credits this week. From next Monday (I think) you'll be getting credits every day. _________________ Beware of geeks bearing gifts.
