Agreed Electo, and I have raised that myself seeing it as the first step on the road to the Merchant/Hobbyist idea they have decided upon, and perhaps something more that we as yet are unaware of.

Pressganging Hundreds of preexisting Bundles into this New category without even informing the original creators stinks of manipulation, as indeed does the submission via client as set up at present.
If that were about cleaning up the catty, surely the first step would have been to ensure that all main categories were listed, as indeed was the ability to accurately describe your product , assign a gender etc, They are trying to promote that change as the ability to do the full submission in one move and more efficiently which it quite patently is not.
The amount of items coming through PR right now as music is astonishing.

Meanwhile client is riddled with bugs, updates have caused havoc with thousands of products that have worked fine here for years, rendering many of them useless. A Mesher has posted in one of these threads that he has found that he now has the ability now to change mesh prices instead of them being locked, we all know what that will lead to b y the unscrupulous..The revamped Creator Centre Page hangs for ages in Firefox, and meanwhile IMVU keep tinkering on the edges and trying to push VIP down our throats, while telling us everything is fine and dandy.

Who in their right mind would take out an annual subscription here right now with the ineptitude in almost everything they do is so starkly obvious, with nothing working as it is said to do.

The predit thing..if I have 4 of my products in the outfit, plus created it, I am happy not to get 1 DT for the whole thing. I do think that if this test succeeds, they should consider this for all other traditional bundles as well.

Not getting Dev Tokens would be nice I agree, but if that is the case then they need to make it for all. Not just these bundles.

When it came to predit sales, bundles were broken. You put together a bundle of 5 of your items and you would be paid 1 Dev Token for the bundle. You would not get your DT for the products within the bundle.

This is a 'be careful what you wish for' moment. You say you don't want DTs. They will just stop giving you DTs. They will still use predits and make predit sales. It is how they get people hooked on shopping. So on all products...no. I'll take my DT. However, I wasn't getting even that on bundles.

Not being able to sell bundles for predits has been high on the list of developer requests, so I see this as a good step.

Either that or being compensated properly.

I hope this means they are looking on how to roll this out to other bundle types.

As a marketing opportunity. Yeah. It works.
only to a certain level. When a person buys that bundle they are going to remember that bundle not the individual Developers who are in it. And the bundle does not auto save to your saved outfit so it would be up to that buying person to try to remember what piece went to what outfit to find a developer and because these bundles are not placed in our catalogs as being part of what we offer, it makes it harder to search for a particular developer and what they offer.
I believe with the coding of this feature that a copy of the outfit does get put into the Saved Outfit area. At least it appears or used to appear in the homepage Outfits area.

They now have your icons in their inventory. If you have branded yourself properly and your icons are clear, then they will remember you. Even on a subconscious level.

The combination of the products might have attracted them, but the individual components, if they are multipurpose, will have them coming back to you.

At the very least, you made some sales.

Celyng wrote:
As far as I can tell, they have preserved the same criteria for bundling as with regular bundles: must own the product, product must be visible, product must be bundleable.

Only part of it they have. We can not edit a bundle, which means if they take and move our current bundle to this format, I would not be able to offer discounts or limited time sales.
I was referring to the criteria on how products could be included into bundles.

There is a concern over products in DMCAhold that I hope IMVU looks into.

As long as they limit this ability to only registered creators, then this should not impact the Merchant/Hobbyist concept.

It could have been handled better.

However, in my case at least, the bundles that were moved on SiN's account were bundles that were created with the existing Sell Bundle feature.

So they were essentially the same thing.

Not sure if this was the case for all of the bundles moved.

----

This feature is not new.

They just dolled it up, changed it a bit and re-announced it.

I'm quoting the following from the TOS:

Quote:
Unless otherwise explicitly stated herein or in the IMVU Privacy Policy, you agree that any Submission provided by you in connection with this Site is provided on a non-proprietary and non-confidential basis. Except as expressly set forth below, you agree that IMVU is free to use a Submission on an unrestricted basis for any purpose and you grant IMVU a sublicensable, nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to (in any media, whether now known or not currently known or invented) link to, utilize, use, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, distribute, modify and prepare derivative works of the Submission.

IMVU is allowed to use our content in such a way and we agreed to it. It's not manipulation in my opinion. It is driving interest in this site which benefits us as creators.

IMVU did use one of my bundles. I have/had no problem with them doing so. It garnered me sales which I wouldn't have made otherwise. It also exposed my products to new people who were drawn to this new feature.

I found the button to sell but it says that most of my items can not be sold. Does this mean that we have to derive our own clothing, put them on and then sell? i.e. make tops, bottoms, shoes, jewelry, hair and then sell? Please let me know what we can do to sell besides putting them in our catalogs. I'd really like to be able to share some of my things that I already bought and don't want to keep in my inventory anymore. Maybe IMVU can make a program like that. I know that some other games do have that feature and it would be nice if IMVU had it too. Smile

I have too many items to go and change one by one x.x it's unbearable.... so if anyone wants to make an outfit to sell out of any of my products, just message me which ones you want me to change to bundable, and i'll do it right away Wink

Help! I have tried to sell outfits and it will say:

This outfit can not be sold.
I do not see any product flagged.
I systematically removed piece by piece even changed avatar
I could never get it to say this outfit can be sold?

Not sure what I am doing wrong as I am sure it something I am doing or not doing? ~Sarah~

Are the pieces you're choosing all set to be allowed to be included in bundles on their cat pages?

Anyone who signs up as a Creator can make them.

The one who put the bundle together will get 100 credits. The Creators who actually made the products will get the amount they set for it originally. Then IMVU gets whatever is left. It's 500 to submit.

This feature creates the bundle for you. It is not a new feature, we have always been able to make bundles, it has just been simplified to make it easier to make an outfit bundle.

The items must have been set to allow bundling though or you cannot make the outfit.
