I started back when I was 11...
My first character was an alien creature from a planet of animal-like people, who hunted and rode on giant bugs. And followed a strange religion worshipping the phoenix as their God.
Her mother (the Queen) left the planet, and my character kinda went ballistic. She was left to deal with the political mess her mother made, and what's worse is there was another race invading to steal the planet's natural resources. But she didn't know how to give orders.
It was fun for a little while, I guess. It got out of hand though.
