Price increases for certain IMVU account upgrades

Effective today, prices for following three IMVU account upgrades have been raised:

Name Registration: Now $19.99 (was $7.95)
Name Change: Now $12.99 (was $6.99)
Age Verification: Now $15.99 (was $9.95)

Yet again you pull a stupid stunt... So you take more and more stuff away and now you make stuff more expensive too. What's the problem IMVU, are your idiotic antics lately making your wallet start to get empty finally? Maybe you're losing more people than you're gaining because of the dissatisfied people telling other people of your antics? Seriously? You're increasing the price to simply register your name when you've made name registration useless because they get subjected to ads? Here's a hint, instead of getting profits by trying to squeeze harder, try LISTENING TO US AS CUSTOMERS INSTEAD.

This announcement confuses me. Those are the price increases that were set July/August 2009. As far as I know, those prices were good for all of 2010. When were the prices lowered? Why wasn't there an announcement on that?

Don't get me wrong here. Thanks for the notification of the price hike -- the original one was never announced at all. Users just happened to stumble over it and post to the forums about it. This is a BIG improvement over that. It's just... confusing, given that the price DROP was never announced either.

Maybe you should rethink that .99 cent VIP deal that includes Name Registration....Just seems kinda pointless saying it costs $19 alone, but you can become a VIP for one month for .99 cents and get it....Heck, even if you get VIP on an ALT for a month...It's still only gonna cost you $10...

And why do you feel the need to charge users to become age verified? I guess to me, it just would seem more of a Safety and Security feature to IMVU...and even us as members, if you simply gave this feature to people. Plus it's not really described to well when you go to purchase it....what exactly it is verifying. To many people feel that it is actually proving that they are the age that they say they are on their profile.....But this is not the case as to what Age Verification truly is. It's only to show that an user is 18 years of age or above, correct? (And I am asking on that....for my own clarification) Laughing

Sooooo the prices were jacked up several months back..found out when tried to get a name token...so you DROPPED them again just to hijack them again? or are you guys just behind in your thinking process...does it kill you to announce things? actually why will you even do that? pick one price change and stick to it omg can't believe name registration is now freaken 20 dollars

I'm sure they've looked at their statistics and seen a lot of people are using these account upgrades.

So, they've decided to jack the price up on these services to increase profits....it's not like these services have increased in their cost to IMVU or anything. Since they're starting to lose revenue in other ways due to their "streamlining" of the client among other things, which is causing some folks to seek alternatives, they've got to balance the bottom line somehow to make IMVU seem profitable to investors and the Board those investors sit on.

Gotta remember one thing.....it's all about the money for them....nothing more, nothing less. They don't care about their users one single bit until they start to see a decline in revenue.
