Maybe this is in the wrong forum topic area, but here's my question. We make an outstanding banner, but how do we put it on our homepage? Is it not like a sticker ... that's why I posted my question here
**Looking forward to all replies, thanks** |

Find an image host such as www.photobucket.com and upload your banner to there.
Choose where on your page you want it to be, such as your About Me area. Click on "edit" and then on "edit custom html/css." Then you'll need to put the html code in the window that opens up.
If you use photobucket it will give you the html that gives the link to your banner and it will look something like this.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t22/youralbum/yourbanner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
But if you want people to be able to click on the banner and have it take you to say your product page you'd want it to replace the part I marked in red with the url address of the page you want to link to.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t22/youralbum/yourbanner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
You probably would also want to replace the part that says "Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket" with whatever you want it to say. (This part isn't visible unless someone moves their mouse over the banner or they have their images in their browser turned off and stuff like that.)
I made the html code below for you so it would go to your products page...you would just need to replace the part that says http://www.yourimagehost/yourbanner.jpg to where your banner is hosted.
<a href="http://avatars.imvu.com/catalog/index.php/manufacturers_id/11664685"><img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 500px; height: 150px;" alt="Click Here for SirKnight57's IMVU Products" src="http://www.yourimagehost/yourbanner.jpg"></a>
Hope that makes sense.

You're welcome! I am sooo glad we finally figured out why your banner wasn't showing up in your signature. _________________ |

This is the code for your banner and the little box for people to copy the code for your banner. Just put in the links where indicated.
<center><a href="http://www.imvu.com/shop/web_search.php?manufacturers_id=HERE YOUR ID/"><img style="border:none;" src="HERE YOUR LINK TO BANNER" /></a></center></br>
<input type="text" value='<!-- MOUSE CLICK :: COPY [CTRL + C] :: PASTE [CTRL + V] :: SUPPORT --><BR><CENTER><A HREF="http://www.imvu.com/shop/web_search.php?manufacturers_id=HERE YOUR ID/" TARGET="_blank"><IMG SRC="HERE YOUR LINK TO BANNER" BORDER="0"></A></CENTER><BR>' readonly
style="font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;width:400px; "
onclick="javascript:this.focus();this.select();" /></p></center> |

Is photobucket coming up with an error message? I know the new uploader gives me issues too.
I use tinypic.com to upload my banners, specifically, because it's quick and easy - like taking off a bandaid. haha Try tinypic and see if that works for you!

try tinypic too, if that doesn't work let me know! as for codes - Gaf210 has an amazing site with helpful generators(he saves my life every day with them) and the banner code gen is over here.

for forums? html wise(catalog pages, Homepages) you use the <*a href="link to catty here" border="0" alt="whatever you want hover to say"><*img src="link to picture here"></a> code(minus the * shapes)
for forums you use:
[*url=link to catty goes here][img*]image link goes here[/img][/url]
for that i use bit.ly(website that shortens links down and rocks) and tinypic.com(to upload photos) and post the links in the code(minus the * shapes again)
I hope that helps!! _________________ my products |

I've found that photobucket always adds something extra to the end of image link o_0 Grabbing their code might as well be good--I always edit it myself. _________________
