|
|
Announcement can be found here.
How to file a help ticket post
| varsha wrote: | In September 2008, we made an announcement regarding 3D audio products. All audio files submitted to IMVU’s virtual catalog were limited to 20 seconds of audio play. At that time, products already in the catalog prior to September 2008 were not affected.
Effective today, we are applying the 20 second limit to ALL audio products in the catalog. Products with audio clips will be limited to 20 seconds of audio no matter when they were added to the catalog. The 20-second limit applies per audio file, and, therefore, also per audio trigger.
Why are we making this change? We are making this change to make the policy consistent for the entire catalog.
Please note that audio players on homepage and products with streaming audio players are not affected by this change.
IMVU members have been purchasing audio products that were submitted to the catalog prior to September 2008. They can continue to use these products; however, the audio play will be limited to 20 seconds. We will issue full refunds for purchases of such products if the purchases were made on or after December 1, 2010. Please file a Help Center Case under the General Support category and include relevant information about the products that you purchased, including the product name and the date you purchased it. Our Customer Care & Education team will issue the credit refund to your account within 7-10 business days. The refunded credits will NOT be deducted from Creators who sold these products.
Thank you. |
Lovely. Just lovely. Thank you so very much for killing off literally all the entertaining songs that are not in your absolutely crappy music store. Appreciate it. The fun value of IMVU just went down the toilet. Thumbs up guys!
[Mod edit to add announcement as this post will be the first post in the discussion on this change once moved to its new location. ~ Min] _________________ Keep your friends close... Keep your wallet, closer. |

Thanks a lot for killing the music.
"We will issue full refunds for purchases of such products if the purchases were made on or after December 1, 2010."
This is so unfair, some people have spent a lot of credits on songs before that, you have no right to take that away without giving refunds. I, and I'm sure most of the IMVU community, want refunds on all songs bought after the 20 second rule was set in action. As far as I remember you said back then that we would be able to keep the songs that was already in the catalog.
This is messed up. You just lost your credibility as a serious company. _________________ This is my signature... |

I want refunds for CREATING the things. I didn't sell them or anything, I just used them to play songs that you can find on just about any internet site in rooms. Like caramell dansen and so on. _________________ Keep your friends close... Keep your wallet, closer. |

If you created a music product that is affected by the change, we are not planning to issue refunds for cost of creating that product.

While my immediate reaction is, HARRRR!!!!! I do feel sad for those creators who submitted their own original pieces of music, as well as longer sound affects and voice boxes. It is unfair that they have to get punished due to the actions of others.
But on the whole, a nice big 'serves ya right' to those who were making money out of copyrighted music products. _________________

You dont even get a fake thanks for that. You killed all our music!!. YOu guys ever think we WANT it to stay? you guys dont have HALF the songs on the music store that i have and like. somtimes in the catalog was the only place i could find them. NOw thanks to you none of us can listen to our music when were alone in the room adn dont get the songs we want to listen to.
I suggest if you want us happy and someof us not extremely upset that you reverse this. _________________ Memory may be paradise from which we cannot be driven, but it may also be hell from which we cannot escape |

You know its bad enough when listening to playlists from the damn music store and most of them come up with "Sorry this song is not available in your territory" .... then to top it off when it comes to purchasing from the music store I cant get half the songs I want because they are n/a so the only way I can is through the cata and now ya taking even that away.
I understand with the policy and all ... but damn seriously.Ive spent a crap load of money buying music not having a damn clue and Im not even going to be reimbursed for the music I have brought ... sure I havent purchased near as much as most but still .... -shakes head in disgust- |

I agree Akarsha. Is this really what it has come down to? The purpose of imvu is to have fun, not going around and making bogus changes to whatever doesn't flow right. I mean come on..what's a party gonna be if you take the most important thing awaty from it? THE MUSIC. The only people that you are hurting is yourselves becuase you are taking what I predict to be 80% of imvu sales away, is music purchases. Its crazy stuff like this that makes me wanna terminate my account.
If you are gonna do refunds like you say you are, then you should refund the purchases of ALL music purchases from the catalog, not just ones after a certain date.

So let me get this straight, you make products that I legitimately had the actual copyrights to, that I was selling useless, and you won't even refund me for the creation costs? Furthermore you won't refund me for products that were legitimately purchased prior to that date? Do you people happen to have brainstorming parties on ways you can screw over your developers and customers or something? UFI products and blatant copyright violations are one thing to disable. This however is completely unacceptable. _________________ Keep your friends close... Keep your wallet, closer. |

Good to know you are reading them. But I've not noticed any reply to the overwhelming negative response in both threads.... _________________

| This is stupid stop screwing up our fun you make all these dumb chnges to imvu and it keeps making people madder and madder at you. Just watch one day you will make just the wrong amount of changes and most of the people on imvu will say screw this and disabled their accounts and leave imvu for good despite the amount of money spent on it. Fix these changes put them back to how they were and STOP WITH TRYING TO FIX THIS SITE I am sure and i know alot of the people I know all agree the more you try to change the more you screw up. I admit there were a few good changes but the bad changes triumph over the good. |
