|
|
The moment you’ve all been waiting for: Create Mode version .2 is out in IMVU’s latest 3D Client version 444.0 for all Creators! Download the latest release here and start creating!
Create Mode has moved all IMVU content creation into the client, so the Previewer no longer needs to be used. Create Mode is what the Previewer should have always been: logical, easy to use, working tools, up to date features etc. Previewer is still available to our developers to use while Create Mode is being improved upon but will be phased out soon.
Before launching into the depths of Create Mode, please remember that this is not a final version. The .2 release contains many of the basic features you need to create and submit products, but still lacks many tools and features that will be available in subsequent versions. We are counting on our Creator community to send us their feedback and bug reports via the new Uservoice feedback links and of course in our new Create Mode forum!
Create Mode brings content creation activity into the client for a much better experience. When you first open up Create Mode via the “Create” tab on your home screen, you will see your new dashboard. This contains relevant info such as credit/predit amounts, dev token balance, your tier level, links to your catalog, IMVU’s TOS & VGP, and much more. We also have plans to add the Creator News to the dashboard as well. The dashboard gives you the option to derive new products, open a local project, or edit products you’ve already submitted to the catalog. Towards the bottom of the dashboard you will see a handy list of local projects recently edited.
Want to work on a new product? Clicking on any of the above options will take you straight into the Editor tab. The right side of the screen is where you will add your asset information and tweak your product. Your avatar window is to the left where you can instantly view any changes after clicking “Apply Changes” at the top right of your screen. You can open as many Editor tabs as you like if you need to work on multiple products at once.
As mentioned, we wanted to release a relatively stable version of Create Mode in order to receive feedback from Creators. The team is addressing bugs as well as performance concerns. We are also working towards resolving the Add Actor feature, and making the Debug tab editable along with other bugs reported by our beta testers.
The next big change that you will see is product submission flow occur 100% from within the 3D client. Currently, Create Mode will take you to the website for the final step in the submission process. Eventually, you will create and submit in one easy location: Create Mode!
For more detailed instruction, please visit our Creator Education Center where we have updated our tutorials for content creation within Create Mode.
So start using the new toolset, create to your heart’s content and give us your feedback! _________________ Katie --Creator Community Manager, IMVU Inc.

I was looking for something more like this....
Maybe Matt should whip this up and sell it to generate revenue on the side _________________

LOL I LIKE this!!! I can tell you right now that after reading ALL the threads in the Create Mode forum, I won't be downloading this until you get all the kinks worked out. For one, it apparently lags & crashes a lot, which means that for those with slow connections already, it won't work at all.
Secondly, now this really caught my attention: the Hot Keys Please tell me that these won't be permanent & they will be phased out because I'm having serious flashback to the DOS days (when I was first exposed to a computer, way back when lol). I happen to think the mouse was just the niftiest invention and sure would hate to go back to memorizing a bunch of codes _________________

| I completely adore the new Create Mode. It was confusing at first but once you break it down, it is much easier and more detailed than the old one. Thanks so much IMVU staff. |

Hot keys are in addition to the mouse using. Totally optional for those who like to know keyboard shortcuts.
You can actually forget about them if you like.
(Wait. I just remembered one you need to know until they put the right click paste in. Ctrl-V=paste) _________________

If you open a local project, you can browse the files on your pc....but you will need to change the file type from CHKN to CFL _________________

I just tried to click "derive from product" in the shop mode and it took me to the old previewer.... I then had to copy and paste the code for the product into the new Creator Mode in the Derive new product tab I then pasted the code number in the "Specify Poduct Field" then it opens in the new Creator mode... will this be fixed so it opens straight up into the new Creator Mode window or not???? |
