uh...ok, but...what about...I'm using 434 and, I got the update or exit message...meaning I can't go to the client even in 434...I was logged in, but decided to restart because I was changing a room for some pictures and got "sorry, this item cannot be worn with your avatar" the usual message I'm recieving for ANYTHING I try to load since the changes to 2.0...first I thought it was a Vista problem...then I talked to XP users, Window 7 users...a lot of ppl have the same issues...aaaanyway, thing is...I'm getting the "cannot solve host name" when downloading. so I can't download, and can't loggin. in version 434...LOL...I'm on my way to call a Voodoo priest to fix it LOL I won't give up IMVU, we gotta go through hard times to achieve something good. but...this is really messed up |

I downloaded the latest version of the client on my newly purchased laptop. My desktop is in the shop with a serious virus, and I been wanting an extra, so I bought this Toshiba.
Others. about IMVU client. It is almost as if running a 3D game. So, computer needs a bit more soup, say than checking email does. A special video card is required that is more gaming graphics oriented. The Toshiba has a RADON video enhanced card, plue 4 gigs of ram. The less ram your computer has, the longer the load. A regular video card will not support flash 10 tools. True on computers about 4 years old. About 3 gigs of ram really is about where you must be to optimally run IMVU Client. Also, a processor with a minimum of around 3 giga hertz processor speed. Both my laptop and my desktop meet all these requirements. I never have any slow load issues since about 3 years ago and not as many crash disconnects now. Just thought I would analyze my new Toshiba since specs are desired by IMVU to help assist them with figuring out issues. I have a 64 bit system with Windows 7.
Five ghtz cable modem Interent service.
Getting my Toshiba up and running all of IMVU has been okay except when I download the Previewer. I cannot submit a product right now. The products directory says it is on the hard drive. I follow the path to get to the products directory, but products cfl directory can not find? not there? Maybe I have a setting hidden?
My only issue to run IMVU previewer or client so far. Works good. _________________ A sweet and romantic single male is difficult to find. |

| This is so wrong to take away our choice of which one we can use. Its like saying we are all on the same kind of computer when we arent. IMVU if you are listening this is not right and needs to be changed IMMEDIDATELY!!!! You will risk loosing long time users as well as new ones with this so called upgrade. Dont let this and many others pleas fall on deaf ears. |

I know friends who used to use the older version and were forced to upgrade, it wasn't very fair, I preffer the newer version but with all the upgrades your putting into it, soon you may as well wipe our gosh darn avatar homepages out and have everything on there except for the download part... you introduced badges and everything and nearly as soon as you did want to put our homepages into small boxes in the newer client... you should try reading into what your buyers want, not what you think they want. ~-~
I also read somewhere that you want to move the preivewer into the newer client too and create a button for that on the menu... well, maybe first you should fix all the new issues with the previewer, like how you can't make eyebrows anymore and such, before you flipping try that or else we'll all be screwed. _________________

thats kinda strange
but uhm sseeing all of this and all that crappy addons in side the imvu client
maybe this will be a idea for the imvu Dev troups
imvu voice addon do not build in but insteed of a part addon seprate installion
music store thinggie in talk window same thing
anyways give the user a choice wat to use
cuz the first version of imvu does not have that crappy addon in it after intregrate music store inside the imvu client althings goes down hill the more thing you add to the client the more memory it eats
IMVU GOT BIG THANKS TO HIS USERS SO KEEP IT THAT WAY
but anyway it is shame that 403 and below do not function any longer,
IMVU staff think about it without us the members/users, IMVU was already death So keep that in mind IMVU IS HERE BECAUSE OF US

Here's my system:
HP Pavilion 7905
Asus A7M266-M Motherboard with a 1.4GHz AMD Athlon Processor and 2GB DDR PC2700 RAM.
2 Hard drives 160GB and 100GB
1 DVD-ROM drive
1 DVD+/-RW burner
nVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX400 Video card
56K Voice/data/FAX modem (Used for Internet access)
1 Belkin Hi Speed USB 2.0 5-port PCI card.
The highest version I can run is 423, with the turbo product loading setting on the Disabled setting. 424, with the Turbo product Loading enabled wihtout a way to disable it, causes my system to lag and crash. I would like to be able to use 425 for the room mod functions, but it crashes like 424.
I'm sure everyone everyone's system might be different, but if you have something simular to mine, Try 423.
As the the triggerless/ triggered music items, This was my understanding of the change.
9/23/2008, starting with product ID# 2658155, IMVU started restricting audio to 20 seconds. There was no mention of a Client version # automatically restricting items made before then. All items with PID >= 268155 would be restricted 20 second / audio clip, no matter what version if the client was in use. If anything, it was mentioned the first client update after the announcement would update Previewer to enable the restriction when making new sound items.
Where the idea you have to use a certain client version or older to use a 'Legacy' music item (Item with PID <2658155) came from is beyond me. |

Is it just me, or does it seem like even the older versions are getting more and more broken every day? I had 414 for the longest time. It worked fine for a long time, too. But about 3 months ago, things I always wear would not load, when I tried to put a save outfit on, it wouldn't show anything in the window, if I tried to quickly try on an outfit of the wifes to buy something I thought would look good on her, it would give me the "Cant be worn with your avi" crap, etc. And I keep a clean computer, so it's not that
I've never been paranoid or a conspiracy theorist, but I would not put it past IMVU if it were possible to put a code into all products that "breaks" the older clients when you download a product, in an effort to get us into the new mess of broken products that is IMVU 2.0 BETA (after at least 4 years that I've been here) _________________ And the plight of IMVUbook marches on |

I have had the same problem with one of my laptops and accessing the saved cfl file to submit. Try making a folder and placing it on your desktop. Save your product file and then *save as* to your desktop folder. This should help you atleast be able to save the file and access it.
It isn't the easiest way but it will allow you to develop and save those files to a new location that you can access. |

From what I understand, the change where CFL files were stored for previewer was due to Windows Vista's security feature.
My only glitch with it was when I submitted a product, because it omitted one of the 2 space characters from the pathname. Instead of.
....\Main User\... (2 spaces between Main and User)
It pops up on the submission webpage as
....\Main User\... (1 space)
Still, I've adapted. |
