I have noticed that the majorityof the ideas of our users are brought by users who have been only on IMVU for a few days and their ideas have been already suggested...or already there. They dont do a forum search or dont bother to look around the site.
Im saying this is the majority. Not all of them. But its just allot of waste of time for the staff. So should they be allowed to post in the suggestions forum right away?
If you say they shouldnt (no) please post how long you think would be good for them to be allowed to post.
If you say they should (yes) can i also hear you opinion?
Lets try to keep this topic flame free and insightfull. Thanks

In my opinion I truly think that they should be allowed to post their suggestions. When you were new, I'm sure you didn't fully know about how the forum worked and for all we know, they might a really cool idea for a new product. _________________

| I know i didnt, but I, unline many other new members, did a forum search and used the program for a long while before even making a suggestion. And my only real thread on there was asking what where the plans for a mac version. I knew they were gunna make it but when. And my question was answered. |

The suggestions don't have to deal with IMVU specifically. New members hsould be able to post in the Suggestions forum, because they're the ones who are the future customers, not the month old people.
Sure, they COULD be future customers, but if you're a month old, chances are you probably know how to work the system enough to not buy anything from IMVU, or you already have bought from IMVU, which already makes you a customer anyway.
The first few days form a big impression on people, and if the program doesn't make a good impression within those first few days, chances of being locked in as a customer are slim. Making the future customer seem more important(by letting them post in suggestions) isn't a waste of time.
I'm sick of people bitching about forum search. Big whoop, they didn't use a forum search. Just find the nearest topic dealing with what they suggested, and they say "We already answered this, <link here>. Please use a forum search next time."
Although the flaming about forum searches has gone done, it's still pretty insane how regulars treat new members. =/
And back to my point baout suggestions not being about the client - I've repeated asked for topic reply notifications to link TO THE FORUM, which they don't. And to update or modify the stickies to give clearer information, or to advertise the free spin SOMEWHERE, etc., etc.
These are forum things, and it only takes two seconds on this forum to figure out that it has one of the worst layouts ever. If the search button takes more than five seconds to find- which it did - nobody's going to use it. |

Not Allowing New members to make suggestions is an insane conception.
Noobs make mistakes they're new. I joined a board along time ago that out of fear of being flamed I didn't make my 1st post until a year after I had joined. I ended up Administrating that board, and never agin did anyone feel muzzled out of fear or at the request of the powers that be.
If something over the top was said it was dealt with according to the established rules. All you can do is ask that the new members become familiar with the way things work, you don't chastise or make examples by public witch burnings. Yes a lot of suggestions by noobs are redundant, what about the one that finally gets through those thick skulls that hey maaybe we should try this its only been suggested 800 times?
Censoring someone because they are new will have one result ...NO NEW MEMBERS. _________________ Cheerz

i think that the newer people should be allowed to make suggestions. becuase they haven't actaully looked around and such, they tend to get imaginative with things that could be there. maybe one of them acutally has an interesting idea that maybe can be a part of IMVU. who knows? and how will we know? only if noobs can post.
yeah, yeah.
they might make dumb noob question posts. but we could prevent that by creating a folder just for noobish questions.
well, i don't know.
just an idea . _________________ HOLY SLARTIBARTFAST! |
