Hello, I create hair & i'm getting my catty back today.. But i'm working on making hair textures at the moment. I want to learn how to make a dreads hair texture.
I have searched forums & youtube videos. And I haven't really gotten any help or helpful one-by-one steps. If you could help me with any tips, forums, videos, or anything that will be certainly helpful. Wink

Do you just flip the whole image when you already made a texture? or do you do that in sprayed strokes?

You can turn a typical hair texture sideways or you can turn one sideways and play with it a little more. Sometimes things like a new layer of noise showing faintly above might give it more fuzzy texture rather than shiny and crisp. There are other things you can do also like vertically stretching the texture slightly after you turned it. These ideas and other things that can be done all depend on how they look on the mesh you are choosing to use. Some meshes work better or at least different than others.

The easiest way IMO, is to flip the whole image 90 degrees, or horizontal.Adjust to your likings.

I tried making one but it make out looking bit chunky or as big dreads . Does this happen because of the mesh? does it have something to do with the shine? I was wondering how to get it like more smaller dreads

If you want tighter smaller dreads then you mainly just turn it sideways. There probably won't be a lot to modify.

To really answer your question better could you tell us what product you are deriving from? Different meshes will behave slightly different so one answer may not cover all situations.

It might help to narrow the shine layers down more but as I said we would need to see the mesh and maybe even a screen shot of what your texture looks like on the hair.
