Keep your IMVU account safe.

IMVU is the ONLY place to buy Credits, VIP subscriptions, Access Pass or any other account upgrades.

NO ONE else is authorized to sell Credits or upgrades so if anyone is offering to do so, they are scammers and clicking on their links or giving them your account password will result in your account being compromised. Do not click on links. Make sure you are using IMVU’s login page: www.imvu.com.

The Only way to get FREE CREDITS is via IMVU's offers available here. Any other website, videos, or user offering to give you Credits for free are pure scams.

IMVU or its staff NEVER asks for your account password. If anyone does they are scamming you and trying to steal your account. Don't let them.

No one is allowed to give away/trade/sell their IMVU account. If anyone offers it to you, do not fall for it as such accounts will get disabled.

IMVU's staff have a staff shield. If anyone says they work for IMVU/are staff and do not have such a profile card then they are scammers. Any messages sent by real IMVU staff (including messages received from IMVU Offers) will also have the staff shield.

If you encounter anyone asking for account passwords, offering free credits, or selling Credits/account upgrades in Pulse, messages, or chats please report them using the flagging tools so we can take action.

Let's keep our accounts and the IMVU community safe.

Thank you for addressing this . It so seems I get at least 4 in box messages about the same "Web Site" and I flag it.

Its almost grown to be some what like a chain mail .

Is their any reprocusions for those sending out the messages as well. Some of the accounts that have sent me the message are just not new accounts, Some are 7 year old accounts.

Instead of burying this in a forum post how about reaching out to members who are most likely going to be effected?

just a thought.

Also as I have asked numerous times.

Why can't any links via homepage or in client go to a warning jump page?

I've received several of these messages, and quite frankly, you guys should be doing something about it instead of sitting on your asses, you should be actively looking for these amounts of shady activities, and another note, these sudden errors and the like, should be compensated for. I've been booted out of chat rooms as well as the client itself. If nothing is done, your company might soon be seeing a decline in users. We, the users of your product are your customers, and if we're not happy, it might not be a good ending for you guys

IMVU never listen to their customers as it is and this frankly isn't good for business what so ever. Some may think that they sit around on their asses doing jack shite to put a stop to it but indeed they are doing something, but only a small proportion and at the same time they are screwing the thing up even further.

Some may ask do they give a ***? Simple answer is yes and no.
I don't disagree here because they should be putting the majority of their resources into putting a stop to this from happening and instead all they are concerned about are useless things which aren't even needed...And to be quite frank I am surprised IMVU still stands at this point. How or why nobody hasn't taken them to court over their failures not including of course their recent case suit, but if they do continue to fail their customers then yes they will see a decrease and yes they could end up being forced to shut down at some point.
It will happen eventually...

The problem with IMVU is they are money happy and all they are concerned about is ripping off its customers in order to create a thrive on a new product, instead of actively improving their current base model all they're doing or what they are mostly doing with it is bloating it with useless crap. They do so in a way to try and get folk to leave their base model for this new product which in all sense is absolute pointless...Why have a base client model and a browser-side client?

The other problem with IMVU is their piss poor support.
Fair enough they do help out some or a majority if spoken to directly however do these tech support staff actively browse the forum and or reply to any posts? I've only seen a few and some far too familiar.
Without a doubt many others might agree with what I have said and if not? They aren't in the same boat, obviously, however IMVU does indeed need to get their *** straight and put their customers before their own cash lined pockets.

It look like whoever it is behind this is getting access to aged accounts. Not even guest, but registered, AP, vip and whatnot. It's quite terrifying really.

IMVU need to do something about the security of the members. Perhaps let users enter security questions and when there's a suspicious IP attempting to log into it, they're prompted to the question.

I also see that the accounts are getting disabled, so does that mean the victim can no longer return to their account? I would like to see those scammers go away, but I'm sure there's a better way of going about it.

This is honestly so aggravating. Every single time I log into IMVU I get one of these messages, it was just one a day, now it's towards upwards of 4 messages a day. I do not want to have to set my inbox to friends only because I get a lot of questions from people wanting to buy my products etc. What is IMVU even doing? Not to mention the message is so freaking long in client you can't even report it, you have to do it on mobile or website. Step up your security measures for accounts, it shouldn't be so freaking easy for this to happen.
