I've tried using GIMP before, but only once. I couldn't figure out anything. ;___;'
So maybe a little help on brushes and settings? _________________ Homepage is under construction. |

Hey guys,
Just want to apologize for the delay with things in the tutorial area. Had some surgery and spent some time recuperating and such, also along with school and some vacay. I should have some tutorials up for you soon. I have noticed a lot of you all asking for skin tutorials. So what I will do is show you how I edit my avatar images. Everyone finds their own ways of editing them which makes their DP's uniquely theirs. So please take whatever you learn from me and make it your own. I have no problem with it at all. I'm only here to show what I know and what I have learned in the hopes it help in some way. I have already received messages from some of you and it makes me smile to see it has.
I truly appreciate all the feedback I have gotten and it continues. And I will continue to bring you these tuts. _________________ ~Azzy~ |

Soft Glow Photoshop CS5 Effect
Step One: Open up the image you want to soften
Click
Step Two: Right Click on your layer, select Duplicate Layer from the drop down list, a prompt will open hit Enter for OK.
Step Three: Go to Filters -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur and another window will appear with a preview of your image. Set the blurring to 4.0 and hit ok and watch the top copy layer blur.
Click
Click
Step Four: Select the small button that sort of resembles a camera that the arrow is pointing to, this will apply a layer mask to your top layer. You should see a second square that appears white that is pointed to as well.
Click
Step Five: Choose your Brush tool. Make sure you select a Soft Round brush, it should be one of your default brushes, and make sure the color you have selected is Black.
Click
Step Six: Adjust the size of your brush by clicking either [ which decreases its size or ] which increases its size.
Step Seven: Now you can begin painting where you want your image to be more crisp and visible. After you have finished right click on the layer mask and then hit Apply Layer Mask which will merge the squares together. Right click on the top layer once more and down at the bottom hit Merge Down and you’re all done.
