You can find a handful of good tutorials at the offsite gasr forum for free or to buy.
Deviantart is also a good place to look.
If your going to look on deviantart though, please make sure to make your icons 100x80 although the tut may say otherwise as this is IMVU's catalog icon size.

You save it as a .PSD so you can keep using it c:

hi dude yes i know that if he/she save the psd you can keep it using it but if you will have to use it for an imvu icon.. you have to save it as "gif, jpg or png" take a look down..
