Has anyone else lost the ability to upload images that are over 220px in height? Cos I can no longer upload anything without IMVU cutting it down to that size. _________________

No, it's recent. I have uploaded larger pictures into my gallery many times until today when suddenly they are cut down. I'm not trying to set it as a display picture. Just upload to embed in a group.
edit - the one I uploaded a couple of days ago was resized, but the one a few days before that is at full size. _________________

Oh...I don't know then.
Maybe a bug to do with the avatar pictures though since that is their max height...
Not sure why it would affect your gallery though. _________________

Further tests show that uploading using the client gives the correct size but uploading in the website chops it down.
A friend just had a go and found the same thing.
Uploading to the website gallery causes the picture to be rescaled. _________________

Yep, just noticed this on the website.
It also does not support .png formal on the website. Gives it a black background.
I will try the client. (Bit of a pain in the butt to log in just to upload a picture.) _________________

Varsha said they were looking into that here, but hasn't been addressed since.
Why in the world would they remove the png format? *sigh* _________________

The latest pre-release is still saving no-background pics as pngs. Everything else is jpg jpgs are smaller files of course. They are also poorer quality. _________________

Shouldn't be version based though as it seems to be an issue with the feature from the website side.
It just is that the website tools have a different behaviour than the client tools.
Client works fine.
Website, kinda glitchy.
Taking the pictures (hiRes)..whole different ball of wax.
Since the 220px is the avatar picture size, and custom DPs are exclusively uploaded through the website, I would think that would be a (contributing) culprit. _________________

Thanks, I'm glad you mentioned the client part works!
I went to upload an image last night and encountered the tiny product pic syndrome and had to load it from the client instead. I probably wouldn't have even thought of that if not for the forum (as I don't generally use that part of the client).
I hope they fix this soon. _________________ my stuff |

I wish staff would let us know if they're looking into this or simply putting it down the ladder of priorities. I'm thinking it's being ignored. _________________
