They could be setting the price high on purpose to see if we would go for it.
You never know they could drop the price lower and still be making good money.... we would get a sense of our voices finally being heard when in all actuality they were originally going to go with a lower price but just wanted to see how much they could get out of the deal. idk just a thought _________________

They did the same thing with the Credit pend length.. It wasn't 14 days when they first announced it~ _________________

| If they were going to run that scam like they did with Cred Pend (state twice what you intend to do in order to make it seem less outrageous when you halve it), they would have announced it already. Fact is enough people have stated they'll shell out the money, so there's no reason for them to lower the price. |

This will not help less newer creators at all, which is what I was hoping it would do. The price means already hugely popular creators, who can afford $50 a day will get even more purchases, while the gap between them gets bigger. _________________

Unfortunately this is true Gooseberry. It's so hard for creator's starting off as it is and overwhelming. And just when they're at the point they want to venture out of their comfort zone to learn new talents in hopes of getting their name out there they realize how much more expensive things get when the look into advertizing.
Gift wrap, the new ad campaign for $50 a day.. those are things that are soooo expensive that they aren't sure if they should even try save enough real money to pay for so many credits to do it. It's hard enough paying to create and badges... _________________

It only backs up what you have said here, but I did ask in the gift wrap thread why anyone would pay the absurd prices for that, and I was told by one of the oldtime pros because they could unload their DT's into it, so they might as well. The really successful, longtime meshers have hundreds of thousands or millions of DT's that they can't get rid of otherwise.
Too bad they won't accept predits too for that. Anyone who's done their share of PR and then started becoming succesful has a pile of them. |

i still find it amusing how people are in someway angry/upset whatever that larger developers will receive further exposure.
McDonalds has global TV advertising campaigns
a small restaurant serving a fantastic burger in my town occasionally hands out flyers.
... They got sucsessfull, so can you ... And when you get there, i bet you $50 you won't give up your ad space for someone who doesn't have the ability to achieve what you have already.
We aren't here for a nice little help along so we all get an even spread of cash. I hate to say it, but that is not how the world works.
Once you grow into some sort of mega creator i can't imagine you all of a sudden offering your advertising opportunities up _________________

People are upset because IMVU originally made it sound like new advertising would be something for all serious minded creators, not just the people who are already pulling in a tidy sum of money. (Trying not to sound like the 99%ers here). That and this, to me, just looks like a ploy by IMVU to drive up VIP subscribers by applying more popups, and not-so cleverly get paid by creators to do it. The anger is a result in alot of cases of IMVU just taking and taking, not following through on promises, and so-forth. |
