Firstly, look at my name...how long I've been here etc....
I just received this message.
IMVU inc. wrote:
"Hello Caz,
Have you noticed that many IMVU community members don't have the "Guest" in front of their avatar name? That's because they've registered their name. Now you can do the same and pay for it with your cell phone! Just go to our Credit Store, choose the 'Register Name' option and select 'Pay with Your Mobile Carrier'.
Please be sure to only select the Register Name option and not the VIP subscription or Credit packages in order to see the mobile payment option.
Cheers!

Um...you do realize it's not directed at you personally? It's a genaric ad with generic words massed out to everyone. Besides i still get half off ap adds all the time. It has nothing to do with them wanting you to buy your name it has everything to do with slappong the same recycled ad to tell peolle that name registration is on sale. For those of us that have alts its a yippy moment. If it doesn't pertain to you (which obviously it doesn't) delete it and move on. _________________

Ditto. We're in 2012, there IS a way to filter for mass messages. |

Exactly. It's a blatant waste of time and resources that could be better utilised elsewhere. And basically, it's spam. Two of my alt accounts, which don't have guest in front of their names, received it as well. _________________

A lot of noise over nothing. Haha.
I eventually drop all my messages, matters not from who. What's the big deal over having another to drop? _________________

There is a saying....it is the little things in this world that make a difference. So when those little things add together, it just shows a lack of real interest in the community. They can send creator only messages, vip, and ap.... Less to do with just deleting it and more to do with ones confidence in the program. In every small and larger issue they show daily their lack of interest in the community that lets them have a job to go to..... _________________

I laughed. Like, how hard is it to not send it to people who already own their name? _________________ Shop. |

I'm going to have to block them too.
They have sales EVERY day and some days, multiple sales.
They're just spamhead, begging, (final?) cash-grab WEIRDOS now.
Their profits must be deep in the crapper if they are acting this tweaker now.
What next, stripping the copper pipes out of my basement?
Selling their foodstamps for cash at a 50% loss? lol...

The problem with IMVU inc messages is that they send spam, but they also send important messages that I do want to read, so blocking is not an option.
*Sigh* They sure do know how to get their ads through, don't they? Lol... _________________ Lord of the Rings group | Findarato |

It does seem like they are getting desperate. Got this as an email, which means it is a homepage message for me to delete when I switch over:
| Quote: | SiNafay,
Your IMVU credits are running low! Don't miss out jazzing up your avatar and rooms with hundreds of new outfits, accessories, dances, furniture pieces, and pets, recently added to our shop!
Start your shopping spree today but first, refill your account (link):
Refill your account with 10,000 credits (button)
Thank you for using IMVU and being an active member of our community. |
Okay, granted, this might work for some users..but why are they sending it to accounts that are from 2006? Developer? and VIP? I know exactly how many credits I have, I do not consider it low (if I did I would have bought some already), and I am getting 5k in 3 days. I am also an old enough account to use a reseller.
EDIT: Not a homepage message, just looks like one. _________________
