Whats next IMVU?
You gonna remove all the music at some point?
Cutting costs?
More like cutting the amount of users who liked this site before it suddenly went rolling downhill. |
i think they would have looked at how much these songs were played
and then carefully factored it so that they don't end up loseing money from users which is greater than that lost from paying royaltys
i hope anyway.
still lost faith that this site has financial stability. _________________

This is untrue. If a purchased song is no longer available in that user's territory after the purchase (a rare occurrence), a full refund is issued to that user.

I can't imagine that cost was very high since the free music was pretty mediocre.
So let's say we all buy the same 3 tracks on the same day and ALL play it over and over ALL day. Would one day cost IMVU so much it wouldn't counteract the credits we sank there for them? _________________

What I'm not happy with it the useless promo creds and the serious lack of notice from IMVU.
While I would like a list of the songs deleted I know it'll never happen. I remember at least one I liked, so at least there's something there for me. Hopefully its available for purchase.
I do think that thought into the financial impact of offering free tracks should have been explored and planned for BEFORE offering them. I have a Nook from Barnes & Noble and every Friday they offer a Free Selection on their blog. Every Friday I am there checking it out. Some of them I liked, some of them I didn't. But the ones I downloaded are still there. I'm sure Barnes & Noble has to pay fees for offering ebooks, and I'm sure they're eating the costs of the freebies they provide. What makes it easier for them to do it is the fact they do not go out and intentionally put the screws to their customers/client base.
As for the constant changes, we're all still here for a reason. I say we just go about our reasons and try to enjoy whatever time we have left on here. Make any backup plans you feel are best (selling your creds, setting yourself up on another site, etc.) but don't expect the higher-ups in IMVU Inc. to listen to us. |
I agree with what you just said! I am here for a reason, several in fact, I met some AWESOME people on here, our friendship and connection goes BEYOND IMVU. And I would like to say, Thank You for reminding me of that Nothing has changed really for me, other than I could lose a possible creative outlet, but that's okay, I have others. And music, well, the IMVU music player has annoyed me to the point that I have been listening to my own music playlists through iTunes or to a web radio with my musical tastes. _________________ AmbrosiaRavynWulf

I do not deny that IMVU is in the wrong. I also feel that if the Music Store is costing them more money and not making money, then it would be cheaper for them to return the creds to us that we bought from the store, and close it up, instead of punishing their customers (loyal old timers "grandfathers/mothers", or new).
But, I also needed a reality check, and ElesabethBathory, gave me one; I am very thankful for the people I have met here. We are preparing ourselves and searching for other potential chat sites to suit our needs.
IMVU won't listen, sadly I have come to that realization. They see themselves as no longer needing customers they can sustain themselves, for how long will be an interesting show to watch. Popcorn anyone? Should be an interesting show! _________________ AmbrosiaRavynWulf

That refund you have given some of us in promo credits. Well, you should have made them real credits. Since, the music store won't accept PROMO CREDITS, it is like a kick in the teeth to give us those worth less credits because of the music store. |
The gift of promotional credits is not a refund. There is no refund to be issued as the removed tracks were available for free.
Thank you. |
So if it,s free, why did you take it back, this a non-sense, except for an exception that=
All the problems that we have here on IMVU begin at the same time that
THERE.COM is RE-OPENING their doors for their members, coincidence ?

Well don't like the change but I certainly liked many of the music that I had from it. Will we get a list of the tracks so we can at least track them down??
Thinking of the possibility of purchasing them of course since some where amazing and obviously of my favorite but don't remember the names and since they are simply vanished |

Seldom have time to even get the free track offered nor can I even remember what free tracks IMVU even gave out.
Most all my friends use Stream Radio or other music and I hate having to bring in second avatar to listen to the music I bought, so I just use the radio.
Now and then I do need to have setup tracks of music and I limit my investment due to fear of problems or something crazy just like now.
When IMVU took every ones music and developers lost their investment and no refund.
I blasted upper management as I have read an article about the music problem and IMVU knew about it for long time but took their cut of the income and ever one lost theirs.
After that the Management and Staff never treated me they same. Dishonest or poor business practices is uncalled for and I addressed.
IMVU MANAGEMENT SEEMS TO THINK THEY ARE THE GODs OF THIS VIRTUAL WORLD AND SAD TO SAY IT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE! _________________

They are not being dicks. IMVU signed a contract to be a "radio" The music store has always been 3rd party material. |
ok, so when you have the time, listen to that video, 30 minutes...

maybe that you will understand what all customers are talking about
and that is my position as an Artist and Musician get rob all the time.
