I've never experienced the tool box not showing brushes or heard of anyone having that issue. It might be worth trying to reinstall it. _________________ CandyApple or PoisonApple, Which would you choose? |

Try going to that specific tab.. I've accidentally hidden mine several times. There should be an option to restore it, if that's what you did. That's the only thing I know of that would cause that to happen. _________________

Try going to windows>dockable dialogs. From there, select tools options. If you move your cursor over the paintbrush box, it will turn in to the pointing finger thing. At the place where it does that, left click. Then you should be able to drag it to the main gimp window. When you get them lined up, release the mouse to drop it in there. The tab should reappear.
Sorry I'm really horrible at explaining things.
If that doesn't work, the brushes still should be showing up in the tool options panel. I know it's more of a pain to use, but it's better than not having them at all... _________________

There is a way to install different brushes on GIMP and it's not dropping anything into the dialog box. You have to go to the files that are stored on your computer when you downloaded GIMP and add the brushes you download from the net into that correct folder. I have never had this happened to me but this link might help. I just went on google. You can try searching for brushes there. | Code: | | http://mygimptutorial.com/how-to-install-gimp-brushes. |
