I filed a DMCA earlier today, and have just had a response saying its been removed from the IMVU catalog and the person who created it informed, but it doesn't say what happens now? This is the first time I have filed one so I don't know the procedure. _________________

I'm curious too. I'm new so it hasn't happened to me yet, but I assume it probably will some day. Is that all there is to it, unless they file a counter claim? _________________

It will remain locked and hidden from access and sale as long as they do not counter.
If they counter, you will be given their personal contact information so that you can proceed with legal action against them.
Once they counter, IMVU unlocks the item and opens it up for sale again. _________________

I have a question, in this scenario what happens if you don't have a lawyer or anything like that and really can't afford any either, but it's your file. This is just a theoretical question. _________________

Thank you Notorious, sounds straight forward if they don't counter. It was my icon and branding which they stole so they're on to a losing battle even if they do counter, I have a catalog full of it and they have one product. _________________

We aren't allowed to discuss legal issues in these forums.
I would suggest using Google and seeing what your options are.
The big problem here in the world wide web is how to pursue someone when you are internationally challenged...and can't afford an attorney.
TBH - I think that is what these thieves bank on. _________________

You're lucky they responded to your DMCA.
My sister is waiting on a huge batch... all of which were sent in together, and only a few were dealt with.
*thumbs up*
Good job, IMVU. _________________

You have to send them an email to poke them to unhide it. _________________

This scenario is NOT dmca-able. _________________

No Disrespect Notorious but is is actually happening to someone in here I know so your information is incorrect on the scenario, items been removed but no further action so far. _________________

If this is happening, it shouldn't be.
If I derive from an item, that is derivable, I can not be dmca'd for changing nothing. That is the hub bubb over ZCD items.
So I guess I need more info on the above scenario. _________________
