Im still on version 468.18, where I think it would be safe to remain at this stage as creator. I would hate to be banned or disabled without even being notified to rectify anything.
((repost)) ATTENTION ALL DEVELOPERS!!
With the NEW IMVU Update it has shifted SOME products (mostly clothing) to show the RED, it will even remove your GA products panties. CHECK ALL OF YOUR GA PRODUCTS! Make sure that NO RED is showing or IMVU will ban you for THEIR mistake! The red is to do with the MCG Skin and MCG Mood: [www.imvu.com]
Over 2,000 potential bans are taking place, some of them are Pro Developers, so NO ONE IS SAFE!
AGAIN! IMVU's new Update is shifting panties and GA products to SHOW RED! IMVU is banning developers for THEIR mistake! PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR PRODUCTS! And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE spread the word!! |
There have been no changes to the MCG guidelines or anything else. We are however looking into specific PIDs if they are provided to us. The discussion is not relevant to the 470 thread. You can however follow it here in Creator forums.

varsha, from what i read there theyre not saying imvu has changed mcg guidlines,
but that one of the updates has altered some products.
sounds like spam though tbh xXxLiesylxXx , i wouldnt worry. _________________ <a href=\"http://bit.ly/bpmFyJ\"><img src=\"http://shadokotsu.com/imvu/images/publicrooms.png\"></a> |

Your point is valid if the room is a Public Room, not very useful if it's a private room.
I personally think it's 100% pointless to have a picture of the room, just tell the user what the name of the room is and if it's a public or private room.
If they don't want to give users the ability on the invite to see if there are other people in the room, perhaps doing like the room card.
You get an invite, click a little button and it opens up something like a room info card.
Plenty of ways of making this new feature actually more useful then just what it is now. |
*Bolded by me* I agree, and that was exactly my point. The only thing this new feature does that wasn't done before is to tell you the name of the private room, along with a picture. As the saying goes, "I'm visiting the person, not his/her house" when I accept an invitation to a private chat. If I don't care for anyone else's company that may be in the room, or don't care for the topic of conversation, I'm always free to leave.
As for the other posts, concerning red pixels now showing, that does not apply to just the most recent updates. This is being seen in older versions of the client, as well. Something did change (there's just too many experienced creators noticing this), but this didn't happen with 470.0 or any of its prereleases. It occured before this. _________________

it does show you how many people are in a public room although i havent tested out a private chat with more then 1 person. _________________ System:

o think its fine the way it is. although 1 or 2 things they could show is which people are in there besides how many there is and or how much kbs there is for people who worry about that. however the feature is fine the way it is so no need to complain on something that should have been giving to us a long time ago. _________________ System:

Yes, the Graphics Engine was modified back about (465.x ~ 467.x) Not sure exactly when. I would study this and the fact that may users with the Mobile Graphics Chipsets either cannot login to IMVU or have Graphics Screen problems. The problems range mainly from not loggin in to crashing along with strange blinking characters and a crash, etc. See more Here: http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpbb2&file=viewtopic.php&p=10150368#10150368 The "Fix" for these Laptops is to go back to 462.18 It has fixed ALL I have come in contact with (16 I think) so far...
I wish I had a good test of the Red Pixel 'Bleeding' problem ( PIDs Needed) to see if these also are "Fixed" if so... the Engineers can go from there to nail down the change.
I do believe these 2 are connected some how. Graphics problems all started around 467.xx in many different areas. Someone should take a closer peek at this.... I'm still working on it resources are not yet available :/ _________________

EDIT: It is not working in 470.24 either. Are they attempting to fix it or has this been done away with? |
It works randomly for me, no matter the client version I use. Very aggravating. |
I has not worked on any version for me in a long time and it is NOT working on 470.26 either... |
It is not working in 470.28 as well. Still would appreciate an answer about if they are fixing this or it has been axed....

I went to 470.28, IMVU froze up several times using my room radio. Which I never had issues with before.
Rolled back to 470.10, fairly stable and I am happy with it so fair. Have no issues developing on this either at this point but have not done anything complex or fancy either.

The past couple prereleases, I'm getting a potentially false positive about a conduit toolbar install attempt with the IMVU installers... Although this sort of worries me, because I've never had false positives with IMVU in the past... Hmm _________________ Keep your friends close... Keep your wallet, closer. |
