I was told that mods of forums can not be Mistresses. Is that true as it is new to me? _________________ Keiko Mika |

I highly doubt that. One issue I see right from jump that you are inaccessible. When you're a forum moderator, you need to keep your page open so that people can contact you.
Being a mistress isn't going to hinder your persay, but there's a good chance that some topics that come up might cause you not to be unbiased about and cannot be in the general audience part of the forums. It's hard to be unbiased but you have to try your best to be when you're a moderator.
Anyone wanting to be a mod, you better think long and hard. It's not fun a lot of times, you get a lot of abusive behavior towards you when all you're doing is following the forum guidelines and the pay really really sucks. (read: no pay )
I used to be a mod a couple of years back, I'm so happy I'm not one now. _________________ My catalog |

Quick question, what would be the reason for a forum moderator losing their moderating abilities _________________

Any number of reasons really. The most common reason for a mod to "lose" their position is resignation -- they simply have stepped down.
However, mods are also held to a higher standard of behavior (and rightly so). Failure to uphold that standard can lead to a loss of mod privileges. _________________ The size of the purple monkeys has no effect on the height that banana fish can jump. |
Wish to be an IMVU forum moderator?
Are you patient and friendly? Do you enjoy helping others?
Are you knowledgeable about IMVU and good at explaining complex concepts in an easy to understand way?
Moderator work is time consuming and can sometimes seem thankless. It is not always easy and not always fun. You will make new friends but may also lose some. From time to time you will be called upon to make hard decisions - even some you may personally disagree with. That said, it can also be your most rewarding experience on IMVU.
What does it take?
- You must be at least 21 years old and willing to handle content that may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
- You must have a registered avatar name (i.e. no Guest_ name).
- You must be a member of IMVU for a minimum of 6 months. Moderators should know how things work on IMVU so this experience is necessary.
- You must be a member in good standing. If you have repeated warnings, bans, or other actions taken against you it is unlikely you’ll be chosen to be a moderator. If you are not sure about your standing, you can email communityteam@imvu.com and we can take a look. We will still consider applications from users who have had minor incidences in the past.
- You should have at least 300 forums posts. Your active participation in the forums means you are familiar with them and you understand the guidelines and the forum community.
- You should have a helpful posting style. We want our users to have guidance from moderators who are able to help them in a variety of situations. Moderators need to explain concepts, provide direction and guidance and all with a friendly voice. A helpful posting style means answering questions and politely pointing out the rules or redirecting users to the information they seek.
What makes you stand out?
You have to show that you can think on your feet. You need to have independent thinking but also be able to temper that individuality with respect for IMVU and its community.
You have to be able to handle personal attacks without retaliating in kind. It is important to step back and keep your objectivity no matter what.
You need patience... a lot of it.
You do not have to be a developer. However, having developer knowledge is an asset we value in our moderators.
New: Multilingual Mods
If you would like to be part of our mod team and are fluent in another language, please apply! We are currently actively recruiting mods in the following languages:
- Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese, and Turkish
In addition to all of the above requirements and guidelines, you also need to have the following in order to be considered for our new international forums:
- You must be fluent in both English and another language. English is the primary language for our IMVU staff and forums, so in order for us to communicate to one another effectively, applicants must be fluent in English.
- You must have an exceptional grasp of cultural context. We are looking for mods who can not only understand another language but understand netspeak in that language, acronyms, multiple meanings of words, etc. in order to understand forum content.
So how should you proceed?
Please send an email with the answers to the questions below to: communityteam@imvu.com
-First Name:
-Email address:
-Your avatar names (including alts):
-Are you a content creator?
-How long have you been part of IMVU and a participant on the forums?
-Have you been given any warnings or received any temporary bans in -the last 6 months?
-Are you a reseller? If yes, what is the URL of your site?
-Are you active in any IMVU groups? If yes, which ones?
-Can you read and write in a language other than English? If so what language?
We ask all of our moderators to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Do you have any issues signing such an agreement?
Also, write in your own words why you want to be a moderator on IMVU and how you think you can contribute to the team.
Note: If you are applying to be a moderator in our international forums, please include more detail on why you would be a great mod in a particular language. Also include any other relevant information on how long you have spoken this language, if you have lived in a country that spoke that language natively, etc.
Please be aware that becoming a moderator on IMVU is strictly on a volunteer basis. Our moderators are not paid but do have rules and guidelines they must follow to stay active as moderators.
Exactly what's been said in that text you quoted will tell you what's needed to become a mod, like you've been told several times today now (in the welcome room).
If you feel you cannot understand this text please try and use google translate, however do note that to become a mod you will need a certain level of English. _________________

Please read the first post about the appropriate method of submitting your application. This forum thread is not the place to do that. _________________ As sexy and suave as Sean Connery. CS told me so! |

Aside from my post counts, using just the other requirements, would I qualify? I have an alternate account, so this account DarienLeonhart and the other one MikelLeonhart. _________________ Darien Leonhart's the name. -- Not interested in buddy requests. | It would be up to staff to decide if someone qualifies. They will look at a combination of things such as how helpful are you to others, if someone tried to bait you did you handle it well, have you broken the TOS and if so how, etc. |

But Varsha, or DarkAngel5 or some other moderator told someone else they they didn't qualify on two of the requirements. They didn't say which two requirements. _________________ Mik'el Leonhart, son of Kal'el (DarienLeonhart) and Kara (SamanthaJGT). |
