| now that everyone uses the shop in the imvu client, there should be a shoutout box on the client like next to your login name or something. Would be a great way. for other users to see a developers new product |

Not everyone uses the client shop. I deliberately avoid it where possible and *always* use the web catalogue for browsing. The only time my client shop opens is when I hit Try It on the web pages.
That being said, I don't see the harm in having a shout out on the client, although I'm kinda cynical and would assume that IMVU end up breaking something while adding it lol _________________

There used to be shoutout bar in the client, though it was always interfering with the names on screen. _________________ Lord of the Rings group | Findarato |

Thumbs down, shoutouts are pretty much ignored and useless. _________________

As a developer who'd like more exposure, I wouldn't mind shout-outs running in the client - BUT only in the shop window and not in chat windows. _________________

I agree, this would be a great place to put shoutouts, should they bring them back to the client. _________________

I think they should. I paid for them, so why not have them seen as many places possible? _________________

Everyone does not shop in the client. If you want to find anything remotely good with better search features, using the web catalogue is the only option. The client shopping is sub par at best.
As far as shoutouts go, where in the shop would they go that didn't cut into the already small shop window? I sure don't want them in the chat windows and noone else I know would want it either.
It has been suggested before, that instead of the completely useless tips imvu force on us when we load up a room, they could put dev advertisements there instead, bought with dev tokens. _________________

Could always put them on the 'home' page of the client where IMVU likes to throw offers and the sort. _________________ Blog | Site | Facebook |

My own cynical opinion is that shoutouts do very little in the way of developer advertising. There's no accounting and no way for you as a developer to know how many impressions IMVU has made for you. Google AdWords breaks it down for you very nicely, but IMVU hasn't put very much thought into it. They don't even work in Chrome, the browser I use - I click and nada, broken, roto. I think it's just a way to make developers think they're actually getting something with all the useless "dev tokens" that pile up.
Now if we developers could buy actually banner ad impressions in the IMVU Client, woo hoo, that might actually spur some business, good for customers, good for developers, and most of all, good for IMVU. _________________

Not sure how many shout outs you purchase but they certainly do help devs. I like to glance at them if a certain word catches my eye, and I actually managed to get a few sales in when I published mine.
True you don't know how many people even see it, but if they can be viewable in client, wouldn't that make them even more, ya know, pay a tention to-able?
I see no need for banners since you can post one here in the forums and on home pages. Plus there would be the matter of keeping things GA and people complaining about X's looks like a prostitute fest and they dont want their kids seeing that (I'm only assuming you mean banners with images) _________________
