Offensive topics.

How about the ability to block a user via the forums too. That way if they offend you to the point where all they do is constantly troll you, you can block them from offending you in PM, and if so be it, not see or be able to respond to their topics or replies to a thread.

In this way it works like the actual block system of other forums and profiles like this. In one forum I am a part of, if I block a person in their chat function, it blocks them completely from contacting me.

As much as this sounds like it goes against the forum's purpose, the only thing it's preventing is the users from seeing each other. While I know it can be abused, I was thinking it would be something that would have a Mod effort collaborative part.

Meaning: You can only block out the other user if you have discussed it with a mod first.

The only thing that you can block without Mod permission, would be the PM system, but the reason a mod would get involved is for the fact that it would one of those huge issues that starts an all out troll fest between 2 people who normally wouldn't care one way or another. In other words it has to be along the lines of if you go to a forum mod to report someone for baiting you, and they have a history of doing it over in other threads, if they have baited you more than 3 times you can ask a mod to block that user's posts and topics. In other words they have to purposely be trolling or harassing you, and you have to have PROOF.

The PM thing is because personally, I don't mind seeing people I block being productive in the forums, but there are some users who are malicious enough to once you block them from PMing you via your homepage, start harassing you through forum PM and Product reviews.

This would also mean that IMVU would need to implement some way of being able to report forum PM's that are down right malicious.

To Summerize,

I would like the ability to not receive forum PM's from people I block, via chat, or forums, so that way if they do decide to take it too "PM" and it turns into a war about who should commit suicide and who's mother smells like french p...poodle pee, while one user is being polite and hasn't dropped any insults, the user can just block that user and walk away, after reporting the PM.

I would also like the ability to, With mod permission, block out another user's comments after they have resorted from PM bashing to bashing in threads generally. Like purposely posting "smack talk" about you in a thread you post in, just to offend you.

(I can't believe I am saying this, but it's the one feature I like about facebook) Is I kinda want it to work like facebook, sorta. When you block someone there, all their posts, including the ones on your page, all their messages, everything is deleted off your profile.

It would be nice to have that hear, so that way we don't have to struggle or slog through asking a mod to clean the threads.

To take it one step further is it would delete all the responses that you made to the person you blocked.

Of course other people can still quote you in their topics, and it will still be seen, but the 2 users would be forced apart and never EVER have to "walk away" from the comments said ever again. Like in real life, you tell someone to piss off, and they don't you get a restraining order.

I just don't want people I blocked forum PM'ing me. I just want the block to do what it's supposed to do. Is that too much to ask for ?

The only reason I would disagree with this is the fact that people will message and block, message and block, etc... That just happened to me within the past hour. Some imbecile sent me a tirade full of idiocy then summarily blocked me, the only means I had to counter said idiots ignorance was through a forum PM. (yes I know I should not respond to stupid people).
That being said I do agree that if they could make it like FB in the regards that all content disappears then I would fully support it.

I've never really liked the whole blocking people and then not seeing their posts or comments on the internet, it makes everything confusing because you can't see what people are replying too because you've blocked that person, so I personally would never use it if it was like that.

It would just be an option. I know for some off us, that when we block, it means block. It's a restraining order for the internet. Yet so far, IMVU's blocking system only goes as far as the client and private messages.

Forum PMS are Private messages, and while I do get lost because I see one side of an argument, I really don't mind.

It's why I posted, you can still see them if someone quotes them. That way you don't really get lost, but you can decide to either go "Meh" or address the quote, just their post doesn't show up.

And again they have to break forum guidelines as well as harassment things for that to happen. I know a lot of people who are trolls who you block, do follow you EVERYWHERE.

Right now blocking just PM's both forum and hp would be a small victory. There are reasons we chose not to talk to that person anymore.

The product reviews have been actually the largest issue ever. But I am not sure how to approach that one.
