ALL versions of IMVU client crashing upon install

I recently recovered my computer to it's original factory settings. Brand new, clean slate.

I then installed Google Chrome. I have not added any extensions or themes, etc. Its still basic.

I went to the "IMVU Client Download History" to install the latest version of IMVU. It installed, said it was complete and successful, then it went to launch the program. I automatically got the window that says "It appears that IMVU has crashed. Would you like to restart IMVU?"

Clicking yes, closes that window, and opens one identical. Vicious cycle. Opening IMVU from all points returns the same message. Figured I got a bad install packet, so I uninstalled, and tried again.

I received the same crashing message, on EACH version listed on the IMVU Client Download History. I tried, unsuccessfully, each version TWICE.

I have now downloaded and uninstalled IMVU 12 times. -.-

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium.

Any suggestions?

I am actually having the same problem. I will have the imvu installed and then once I press upon my Dressing Button or my Pulse, my imvu will automatically Crash. Then I will have to Reboot everything and have the same thing happen over and over.

I am running a Basic Windows Vista, my imvu was working Fine before and now it is crashing Too much. I even tried to install one of the older imvu's, but the crashes continue.

im having something similar i log on but cant load rooms more than 50% and and crashing constanly i cant even load to see the pulses is so frustrating i have uninstall imvu quiet a few times and if i try the updates it says that there is an error so im going to try this 464 version to see if its work

I am having this exact same issue. Cannot open the client/login/etc. Uninstalling/re-installing fails to fix the problem. Neither does restarting my system.

I am running Windows XP.

I should also add that I have a help ticket submitted for this issue.

The only thing that has worked for me so far is uninstalling IMVU and installing a previous version. 150.2 worked for me, but I was crashing heaps and having a few other minor issues.

Had contact from IMVU asking me to upgrade to the latest version (despite me telling them that it wouldn't open). So now I am back to square one and awaiting another response.

This sounds like the same issue and they resolved it using a simular solution to what I was using: http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpbb2&file=viewtopic.php&t=422082

Hope something is being done about this, but I doubt it because we would not be the only ones having this issue and I would expect IMVU to let us know if they were working on the problem.

I've got the same problem and I'm running XP on a desktop. I'd try on my laptop but I need to fix it..

Anyways this problem happened when I updated to 470.0. I tried to install other versions and they all crashed. Updated to 471.0 and it still crashed. Even ran CCleaner and the Cache cleaner to clear out the cache..still crashes.

I tried Lestat's fixes and they still crashed. It's been 2 days now. Hopefully imvu fixes it.

Have you tried installing 450.2? I'm running XP and that's the only one I could find that worked.
