Well all i have to say is idk why so many people "hate" noobs. We all started IMVU with a ugly avatar with a huge head, huge eyes, huge everything. And when you are new you dont just go ahead and pimp yourself out. for crying out loud give these new people, who are new to IMVU a chance. they just want to know how everything works and get used to it. Maybe some eventually see imvu is just not worth it and never come back. So just because you spent so much money on ur avi to look good doesn't make anyone here have any higher authority or think they are superior. And as for the years idc if you been here since IMVU started. I care to see how you treat others and not be a cyber bully. So years have nothing on me cuz i have encountered so many obnoxious, troll, wanna be people who have been here for so long and compared to a newcomer they have much more class. I think trolling tolerance has gone on for too long. It has become an old joke which was never really too funny in the first place. While I recognize someone being in the trolling mode somewhere, I won't be offended, but I still find it very tiresome - that, rather than up right annoying.
The old users don't always recognize in various sites - and not especially the trolls - that the new users might actually be smarter than them by some measures, and that they might be the ones soon having a high influence on site with their actions and presence.
I guess some older users don't like the thought of such change, even if it was for positive. _________________ Lord of the Rings group | Ladies' Men

Yes, rather use "newbie":
Newbie: New person truly interested in a place, with a good learning potential.
Noob: Sometimes (not always) a new person, but the common thing about them is refusal to learn, to be a troublemaker. _________________ Lord of the Rings group | Ladies' Men |

Oddly enough some people believe there is a difference between "noobs" and "newbies" as far as I understand from sitting in chats with the 2012 generation of users, they believe a noob is different that what it was when I joined. There is actually a very wide range of things a noob can be according to a range of users, they include, but aren't limited to the following.
A noob . . .
1) Has the word swagg/swaqqa/gurl/booty/sexy/cutie/hottie/baby/gun/boi/cheap/wild/sex/bootay/swagger/Nicki Minaj/Rap/bitch/damn/wow/sexyyyy/emo/scene/scremo in their name.
2) Dresses in the free starting clothes.
3) Spams rooms
4) Annoys people
5) Acts stupid in public rooms
6) Asks for cyber from every girl/boy in the room
7) Buys a pregnant avatar and has 30+ kids within a week of joining.
Begs for credits.
9) Is oddly homophobic . . . (has happened to me loads of times)
10) Parks in rooms.
11) Does interactions on avatars randomly
12) Keeps asking ASL
13) Keeps saying that they're bored.
14) VB spams.
The list goes on too. Here's what a noob was back in 2008 apparantly : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sFm4JklCH4 _________________

Noob is not used for the newb (short for Newbie)
Like Stated before Noobs are people who could even have been here for years. They just act like total idiots. They want your credits or other stuff.
Newbies on the other hand just started and wanna learn, I was and everyone was a newb at one time. so how about no hating unless they are stupid trolls or just someone who harasses you and does things without your permission. _________________ Rats FTW ~<3

What has happened recently with IMVU choosing to close down the public rooms with no owner after a 3 month period IS helping with the discrimination against neu people, but only because some of the troll nests got closed down.
Here in the forums the trolls are still as common as ever and there is less mod response, allowing for more trolling than before.
When i wrote about trolls on the first page i was just offering personal experience with them as an example - how they so commonly act, and how this hate directed at neu accounts is really just one MORE example of sick behavior from the trolls.
NO.. letting a 'little evil' in is not how we make a society work. Excusing trolls, ignoring them, or worse joining them, thinking that is how to be 'popular' is just letting what is WRONG in this world continue to spread.. if you never wash your clothes then eventually they are ruined.. if you do not bathe then soon enough you will smell awful..
This whole situation with trolls harassing people for being neu just stinks.. as does every thing that trolls are allowed to infest.
This stupidity is what happens when people stop caring..
IMVU has so much potential.. too much to let it all be spoiled by trolls. _________________ Domination, Sadism, Masochism, slavery, humiliation..

I've never had a problem with new users until they start acting like a noob. They enter my room and I wait about five to ten minutes for them to introduce themselves. If I see them jumping around the room, emoting people, using voiceboxes, and acting like an idiot in general then I kick them out. If it's a roleplay room, and they do the typical "hi" then I boot. If they don't even bother reading the room rules, I boot.
If they ask questions, and take the time to type out their words instead of text talk, then I'm more respectful. I've never been called a noob, and I didn't buy credits until a year after joining. I proved to others that I was not an idiot. At least, not a complete one. Anyone who calls someone a noob based on looks alone is most likely a noob themselves. _________________

"A little evil" is life. A little evil is nature itself.
Creation is good. Destruction is good.
BOTH can be awful and devastating in excess.
It's -all- about balance.
You do need to wash your clothes, yes. But a better example is taking a shower once or twice a day versus taking a shower a few times a day. That is an unhealthy thing to do to one's self. All those important oils being washed away... like a person brushing their teeth / using mouthwash too much... all the GOOD bacteria goes bye bye.
It has a purpose.

And as said, "new" people aren't very much a large target as the ANNOYING people above. People who are disrespectful and making an ass of themselves are stood on while still squirming as someone, in trolling them better, describes to them the acceptable and unacceptable behavior to be had on here.
Yes, there are people who just literally go after ANY noob, just as there's butt nuggets who go after furries that look too hot, people dressed too bondagey for their personal liking, and don't EVEN get me started on the "crazy jealous chick" type alpha females who launch themselves at anything female when a man they fancy is around.
Some think "well, if you troll a troll back, then you become an unstoppable trolling machine that keeps trolling AFTER the troll war is over!"
...but that's just not reality. That's like saying if you use a screwdriver to tighten a screw, IT'LL BE PERMANENTLY AFFIXED TO YOUR HAND FOREVER!
No... no... It was just a tool you held briefly.
It's not as evil as you're making it out to be. It "does" something. It has a function, a positive one both for the stomped and the stompee.
...oh ....oh, i DO love the stomp. I can't even begin to count how many molestative MORONS i've sent packing with that.
