User base changes every year and as i see it gets worse day by day. I have a friend who hates newbies which makes me angry. I do not hate new people and never will. I have been here since 2008 so i know how much it changed.

Been here since '07 and I've noticed the change too. I think people fence themselves in much more, even in public rooms. They don't realize that it's not going to make IMVU look too attractive. Community is a big part of the site image.

Same way people who profess themselves as emissaries from heaven, vanquishing every form of smut and evil... get caught with unspeakably NASTY secrets themselves...

Not all people who are good have any nasty secrets.
i can speak from personal experience.. there is very little that can actually even BE a secret online.. if i ever post any thing then i WANTED it there, given up for the public to find, copy and download for them selves.. as people write to tell me that they do - so that is certainly no secret.
It is just incredibly stupid how i personally am first accused of being a prude, then when the trolls discover (if they ever do) that i never WAS a prude, then instead they claim that i am acting hypocritical - for NOT being the prude that they falsely accused me of being to start with. 
Any one of those morons with the AP could have read on mai homepage, found pictures of me that i have modeled in the nude for, and found mai set of AP public rooms.. oh they are certainly banned from entering.. who actually needs trolls in your rooms? But at least they could have discovered what the people with open eyes and brains already knew.
THAT is a perfect example of just how stupid it is to be thinking and acting like a troll. It really shows how immature a person is, hoping to make them selves popular by attacking other people for being neu, or from a different country, or a different religion, or for having morals.. there really ARE some genuinely important things to consider in this world when it comes to how people ACT.. but trolls instead want you to believe their own lies and not even look at reality. They want being neu to BE an issue.. it is not and it never will be.
And i have not yet met ANY ONE from Heaven here in virtual Sodom.
The internet will always have trolls.. people who never seem to offer much in the way of ideas of their own, content to simply enjoy harassing others for every thing from being different to being neu..
Their enjoyment comes from the attention they receive and seeing how long their lies can be kept going.
Thankfully the majority of people online are not trolls..
Sadly the majority of people online are just not thinking deeply enough about what they see to care one way or another and so the trolls use the internet to gain their momentary fame.. not by doing any thing good or by being any one good, simply by doing their best to make other people look bad or at least feel bad. These forums are filled with trolling, so is YouTube.. just two common examples.
Here in the forums the more popular trolls even have their own fans and those fans come from every part of IMVU. But the forums are mostly only used now for ranting.. so this is really the troll playground and it should be expected that they have freedom to be the crude creatures that they are.
Forget about them.. they have no thing worth listening to and no thing to teach us, unless you are wanting some crude joke, some tasteless derogatory remark based on a lie or if your ambition in life is to become a troll.
Honestly there are much better ways to spend a life.
I think the funniest part is the idea that trolls some how 'balance' the good people who do NOT harass others for their fun?
Good survives quite well by the merit of being good. We do not actually need evil to teach us the value of good.
We will never need trolls.. we just have them. They serve no useful purpose.. like hecklers at a theater trying to distract others from the show.. they are only here seeking attention for them selves.
The whole sad situation with 'noobs' is truthfully just a form of degredation.. a way of trying to make some one feel like they are less than others. The trolls who harass them actually know almost no thing about the people they are attacking.. they just want to try making them SELVES seem better, superior, by throwing mud on other people.

Trust me, EVERYONE has a dark side. to deny it is to not be aware of yourself and or not to be intellectually honest.
You might not be running around starting fires, holding up convenience stores or putting sugar in people's gas tanks, but it comes out -somewhere-.
"Trolling" isn't so bad in the context that many noobs are MESSED UP.
Like, a noob, someone who just made an account, coming into a room... I really don't see them get attacked much. You're right, we all were noobs and i think most people understand that.
Yet once they open their mouth and start begging for creds, or things off their wishlist, or DEMANDING someone be their boyfriend, or asking people to invite them somewhere for fun even though they have no AP, or foreigners who just learned their first english word and OH what a surprise it's a curse word that they think will make your chick buddies melt like butter, or just .... ugh... let loose.
GO with it. Troll a lil'.
It won't hurt. ...For you OR for their sake, it won't hurt.
It does make both parties "better".
Better to let a lil' evil out here and there, CONSCIOUSLY, than letting it build up and do something crazy like sending people death threats for having a different opinion or something.
Balance is next to godliness.
Being "aware", actually thinking first about every action you do before you do them is "caring".
Predicting all the time what happens when the meteor that is you makes contact with the ground and who's affected by it is "love".

I think people take trolling too seriously.
As for noob-hating...it's going to happen. People like to feel more important that others so they attack the easiest target: noobs. Also, people don't like change. When noobs come in, it's one step closer to a bigger change. I was once in a group that was basically made up of one small clique. They hated noobs so much that all of them (except maybe one...occasionally) would cuss out anyone that joined. They feared that if they let noobs in, their original group would be changed for the worse, so they became hostile towards them.
It doesn't help that a lot of noobs give other noobs a bad name. "HI CAN I HAS CREDITS?" HI WANNA BE FRANDS??" "HI IT'S MAH BIRFDAY! GIFTS PLEASE?" -____-

It is a common thing for cliques to act rude, suspicious and some times actually violent toward any one who is not part of their clique.. regardless of how long that stranger may have been in IMVU..
But that is a sad mistake that cliques often make.. it does not excuse the act just because it is common.
And yes, hating noobs IS going to happen, as long as people choose to keep hating some one for being neu, and as long as the bystanders do not stand up and speak out about it.
All that it takes for evil to spread and flourish is for good people to do nothing.
Just because it is common, does NOT make it right, and does NOT excuse it.
The last person i booted out of mai public park was booted when they started harassing some one because they had a Guest account, and had not yet bought a more normal-sized head. That troll was told exactly why i was booting him, in public, in front of every one there. then booted out and banned. i do not allow trolls in mai public rooms.
Each of us still need to decide for our selves if we will follow the trolls and attack the noobs, hoping that we can 'fit in'.. or if we will just be silent and do no thing.. just let it all happen and pretend you did not see it..
Or we can choose to stop letting it happen.
