Pulse Entry:
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.
Hate, Intolorance, Bigotry on IMVU.... never
If I didnt see it with my own eyes i would have never believed it. Here is an actual screen shot taken just 10 min ago:
[mod edit - names, images and other identifying information removed - Qwerty]
I'll leave this up to the Jury of the Court of Public Opinion to address.....
**** Why does IMVU allow such rooms to be opened in the first place?? There should be a checks and balance system in place for all new rooms. Including checking for AP products in a room description picture. (ah-hem) |

Well, approach this from a scientific standpoint...
...what could imvu have really done different to have prevented it's creation?
Each of the words used in the right context are fine all alone... even queer has not just an alternate meaning for "odd" but also as an affectionate term between some people. _________________

You can flag the room and the Pulse for hate speech. The owner's account also appear to be in violation and flaggable.
Extreme hate groups with all kinds of agendas repeatedly try to organize and occasionally advertise on IMVU. Only user flagging and consistent rule enforcement with meaningful penalties by CS keeps any sort of extreme violation in check. _________________

Hate groups in general are UFI on IMVU, and that particular hate group is also specifically listed as a UFI example in the VGP.
In addition, intent and overall context is part of rating determination, and any inappropriate intent can easily be created using GA terms. _________________

You could just not join that room.
I don't see what the problem is. |

True. and those rounded up from MSN and kicked off .. the American [mod edit - removed name - Qwerty] Party members (the ones that infultrated the american miltary acadamies - west point, navy and air force acadamies) are now on IMVU as told to me by several trusted military/veterans that brought this to my attention.
Just not go in their rooms either, correct??? |

I have had to remove any identifying information so your thread complies with the forum rules. We are not allowed to name in a negative light, even if warranted. As a result, I've also had to edit the thread title.
These rooms are not allowed in IMVU at all, but posting them in the forums isn't the right way to deal with them either.
The correct way to report rooms is to flag them using IMVU's tools by flagging the room and the Pulse.
There are rooms opening up all the time and IMVU cannot be everywhere all the time. It relies on us to report and flag content like this that is not allowed. I can assure you though that these rooms are not allowed and IMVU will deal with them. _________________ DP by Katelyn <3 |

I should ask the guy that runs IMVUsucks.com to reopen his non censored forums on IMVU topics.

Anaka said what's important - IMVU's a community so user moderation is a must. Also, if we accept the "it doesn't exist if we ignore its existence" stand - that'd be just foolish.

Snooping around for a few minutes, I found that this particular group has multiple rooms on IMVU, multiple guest accounts that advertise the group name, and apparently even some catalog products. I'm sure that's just a small part of their activities.
If anyone needs tips on how to find and flag this hate group (or any hate group), just drop me a private message. _________________

No, of course not since it'll be bad advertisemnt.
But IMVU's users/members are allowed to raise awareness (the state or ability to perceive, to feel, or to be conscious of events, objects or sensory patterns) so that's better than nothing at all. |

Actually anyone with an iota of intellect would know that the feds themselves would be the ones putting a lid on any talk of an investigation were such an investigation taking place. It's called common sense. You may have little respect for anyone who disagrees with your modus operendi, however those with actual training in dealing with hate groups are wise enough NOT to publicly broadcast their plans. _________________ DP by AstraiaStarLight

~and that's a lock.
If you find content that violates IMVU's rules, flag it, and it will be dealt with.
