::Making A Room:: Seprate Section For Tags??

Rooms are wonderful things. People use them for role-play, chatting, total randomness, the occasional cookie thieving, etc. And it is wonderful because they have many options, from choosing the room to the furniture the name, and so on. You guys get the gist of it me thinks.

Only problem is, the room description. You could use it all for room description and rules, but chances are then, unless your friends come in, and bring their friends, it generally wont attract people because there wasn't any room left for "tags" to attract people so many would come and visit.

Then you put tags in first, and it doesn't leave any room for a good room description, and rules of the place. Sadness.

So now your stuck. Now you don't what to do. You want your room to attract people, but you also want to be able to avidly describe the room, so people know what your all about.

So this got me and a friend thinking one day, as we came upon the subject of "tags".

Brilliant Idea! What if Imvu gave us a separate section simply for and only for "tags" when we create a room! That would mean we could put in "tags" to attract people to our rooms, and still be able to avidly describe the room, and rules.

So that's how we come to this thread. I want to know what others think. I want your votes. Separate section for "tags"? Or no separate section for "tags"? We need your votes and opinions. After all I don't think Imvu would just make this option available to us without some feedback.

So tell us what you think. Let your voice be heard. Please vote, state your opinion. If we want Imvu to do this, we are going to need lots of vote's and opinions.

~ Separate tag box in room options

~ Have a limit for the tags, around 250 characters, or 15 tags; each tag separated by a comma using a software known as CSV <--- Idea submitted by AzraelRaiju

~ Have the tag box, and have 4 or 5 tags, which would make people really thing about them and the tags actually relevant to the room itself <--- XxMissSnowyxX

~ Fix the search options altogether like it used to be, so searching is effective again <--- mentioned by many people

We used to have a decent public room search, but the one in the client now is atrocious. As long as the room search isn't improved, it won't matter how many wonderful tags you have, since the search won't find the rooms.

If the search was as good as it used to be, we wouldn't need tags to find a room.

SOOOOO true. I miss the old search. Now it just sucks. Specially since i used to use this awsome room when I decided to do outfit challenges. Ever since this NEW search came up, I cant seem to find it ANYWHERE. And no other room really did compare for that one.

Not to mention the NEW search I cant seem to find any of my friends room when they tell me to check one out that they made. Or it only lets me find it half the time.

I don't think it's too bad of an idea. If the old search were re-instated that'd solve problems, but tags could help now... just maybe?

New search or old search, I still want tags separated.

There's no room to do a room description, room rules, etc after you've chopped it all down to hell to add the relevant tags.

Yuppers. Room tags either way would still be useful. Just need more people to give their opinions. Eleven people voting for yes is good but don't think it's enough to show imvu that we reallyyy want this. Need more opinions and votes yes yes we do.

I agree with this simply because I would like to be able to use the description for more than just tags. I like to add a story to my rooms and if I use tags, I have to chop it down to one sentence or so and use the rest of the space for tags. Not to mention that if one puts "NO RP" in their tags but searches "RP" it'll still bring it up... so, that doesn't help when you're trying to find the right room. It just makes it more irritating.

Separate space for tags? Support 100%.

I would like this as well, as long as there was a limit to the number of tags a room could have.

I think maybe 4 or 6 tags would be more than sufficient. It wouldn't cut down the number of rooms that I see that have tags that have nothing to do with the theme of their room, but if there was some kind of limit, it might force these rooms to be more selective on what they used for tags.

Speaking from personal experience, I find it quite tiresome to go looking for specific themed room, and I get a bunch of random rooms that have NOTHING to do with what I was looking for. Sure it might be because the current Room Search is something to be desired, but I also think it's the people who go crazy with the tags that have nothing to do with the theme of the room, and just trying to get more publicity.

Since this new search thing I haven't been able to find any rooms I been looking for. It's very disappointing I must say. The rooms that come up in my search are just improper. Ugh. That's why I mostly just stay in my own room. Which also only can be found if ones search for my name.

So yeah I totally support this suggestion.

It is very hard to find good rooms so having search options such as a list of search terms like items in shop or on your avi card like interests as I have mentioned that would make searching easier....
